The “Eric Johnson” shape could also have a ringing open note added when playing certain chords. Doubling a root or fifth bass note on a different gauge string. This really rings out, adds texture and accents that note.

That's an impressive stretch on that last voicing. Feel like I'd need to get a much shorter scale guitar to be able to pull that off.

Here i thought i knew about power chords. And then we start with the inversions and Eric Johnson fingerings. More tools for the toolbox. They force me to improve my muting, and I have a feeling committing these "alternates" to muscle memory is going to help ground my soloing in the chord i'm soloing over.

It's a pity you don't have more subscribers and views, because I honestly think you are much better than many others who produce "sexier" videos, but don't manage to really explain certain techniques such as power chords well.
