She was an angel for destitutes, unwanted people, hungry, orphans , lepers and many more. No Hindu whether rich or educated cared for those. No one had time to spend for them. Thank God,the Mother of for all of them was sent by the God for them. Then so many people in India pointed fingers at her,now they had time to gossip about her. The people who had no time for the needy( though all those needy were Hindus),now had ample time to find faults with the Mother Teresa. Why not you ask the Indians why they refused to take care of those needy people? Were there no Babas,no sanths ,no rich people ,no educated people that Time? No one should point fingers at her. You are not lying. I studied in a Christian school that is within a 200m radius of Mother Teresa’s “Missionaries of Charity”. We would volunteer and spend time at her old age facility. Have seen sun weird stuff. I happen to know that ship loads (not joking) of toys, clothes, books and all kids essentials would be reaching Kolkata Port for her charity. But very few of these items would reach the orphans… Not all is evil, but her most trusted aides weren’t honest. It has since become a sham.

I have followed mother teresa from a young age, like we have literally read her stories and other's stories as role model right? I didn't believe some of the videos at first but then when I started reading about the complaints my heart broke. I knew these long back, just passed out from St.Teresa's Secondary school, Kolkata. Honestly, I feel fortunate for not being brainwashed like my other classmates and understand the underlying intension of these Christian Missionary schools. They didn't even leave the chance to cut off Rakhis or holy red threads on our wrists .I was ashamed to be a part of this school for the last 12 years and now want to forget all the memories.

It's really easy to find faults but difficult to sacrifice your family and friends to lead a challenging life.. Atleast she did something. I did my schooling in a convent school and obviously our teachers, staff members were all Christians. We had a really intelligent teacher in our school she was pursuing her PhD then and that was the 1st time our class got to know what PHD is. she used to always share information out of the syllabus and some very intresting info. Once while teaching about mother Teresa at the end of the class she told us that mother Teresa was only here in India to spread Christianity and there are many dark truths about her which no one discusses. Being a 10th class student it was a instant shock for us. I was flabbergasted and forced to do a personal research on her. Now when I learn about her and colonial India I feel immense shock that there's so so much more to know and there are tremendous and hell lot of things which are still kept under the carpet. Insane

Because without Love this much dedication is not possible... Also I have read, By the mid-1960s, she had established a leper colony called Shanti Nagar ("The Place of Peace")-a place where lepers could live and work. Moved by her diligent work in raising awareness of the disease, the government donated the land on which the leper colony was built. Also I heard from my father a famous incident- Mother Theresa, politely approached a rich man and asked for help. At the peak of anger, the rich man spit on Mother Theresa's face and started scolding her. The divine Mother, patiently cleared it and with unimaginable patience asked him, "Thanks for what ever you gave me, but what will you give to help my poor people". The rich man got stunned by her response and gave her sufficient funds to help the needy people. She never had ego while helping people, which most of us have when we do such activities. Her only intension was to reach out for people who are in need and help them. She always believed that she's just a tool being used to help others. She never took the pride of her achievements. We should try following her path to the maximum extent possible.

its very easy to make such videos, there is so much helpness in india, you stay with the sisters of missionaries of charity and then see how much they take care of the real helpless. so what if there were no beds, they atleast got a place to call their home?

The last part that says suffering will keep you closer to God is absolute truth because the fact is that we humans remember God only during our bad & worst times, and during our happiest times we are busy in living life in our own terms without pleasing or acknowledging God in that. So all sufferings & pains that we get in life is where when we actually look towards God, it sure shows His concerns & love towards us and how great is His extravagant love ✨

My personal opinion: no one dares to continue serving the poor with funds, it's not easy at all, if she did, it would have been evident much, but it is the heart not money. She definitely did what we all cannot do. So i dont dare to comment anything negative. If anyone has done more service than her, can perhaps have right to comment if her work is proven wrong or guilty with evidence. Critics are always there.

I am from Kolkata and have studied from both St. Teresa's Higher Secondary School as well as from Loreto College... both being places where Mother Teresa had taught. At that time there was a voluntary nomination for all students who wish to do social service for which I enrolled myself. One of the places was the orphanage home which was under missionaries of charity. I got to actually work with Mother Teresa and her aura was very calm n strong and the orphanage was well kept. I also got to meet Princess Diana When she visited Mother Teresa because of this. Being a Sardarni I wear Kada on my wrist but in no institution was I ever asked to take them out. I too have heard a lot against her... but since I never got to face her evil side (if she had one) I guess I will stick with what I experienced.

As an institution run by humans, I won't deny that there are errors and a nber of failures but all in all I believe that she and her sisters have contributed much to the poor and marginalized sections of society... I myself being a medical doctor have worked with Mother and her sisters in different capacities... In our state of Meghalaya it is always the sisters who are at the forefront of helping and providing basic care and a space for the severely handicapped, the elderly, the sick destitutes where even other NGOs won't go near... Infact the government has many collaborative ventures with these sisters where in most of the major districts the Leprosy colonies and the TB center are helped by these sisters... I've visited their home of the aged...they were very simple, sometimes lack hygiene, and tend to be overcrowded...but what I also noticed is the love, the care, the dedication these sisters have while providing care and also the peace in the eyes of the inmates who are under their care... I believe as a society we should stop pointing fingers at them for with so many hurdles they are continuing their work... And I myself used to criticize them alot before but then I realised I criticise but I have not done even 5% of what they are doing...any work is not smooth...if only I could have the courage to pick up a sick man from the street and bring him home rather than criticize...

It was also claimed that saving the poor wasn’t the primary intention of St.Teresa when she started the “Missionaries of charity”. The desire to convert people to Christianity was alleged to be the reason why the Missionary was started. It is corroborated by the fact that St.Teresa always baptized the patients in her care. A German magazine aslo revealed that only 7 percent of donations to the organization were used for charity. And Forbes revealed that the first home she set up had a mortality rate of over 40 percent. I believe that, in the end, she probably sincerely believed she was doing good work, and genuinely felt her various compromises and shady associations were in service of a just and noble cause. Were they? I personally don't think so, but I believe she did.

What I learnt from this isn't that mother Teresa was a bad person instead I learn to not believe what we have always been taught without a reason or proof . She might be evil or not but what she has done is in the past I choose to move forward so I'll learn to not believe & judge someone so soon .

One additional detail. When this lady Teresa fell ill and was in her deathbed she received the top quality medical service at that time.. so ironical that people who went to her had to die in such horrible state and she recieved a high quality treatment.

Having lived in Kolkata, I have seen the good, selfless work that Mother Teresa has done for the poor and downtrodden. We used to feed a lot of beggars in Kolkata and occasionally help them with medicines when ever we could. On one occasion we came across a very old man who had wounds in his back and feet, he was in pain, dirty and hadn't had bath in months. Later we found out that there were maggots in his wounds. We couldn't find a way to take this man to any government hospital so asked the institution of Mother Teresa to help. 2 nuns arrived arranged an auto rickshaw and lifted the man and took him to their institution. A few weeks later we visited and were glad to see the man recovering. Many years later we heard from the man who was grateful to Mother Teresa but also remained Hindu and explained to us that he was never asked to convert. As a hindu with firm beliefs in Sanathan dharma, I will always be grateful to mother Theresa. Our government hasn't done half for the poor in Kolkata than what Mother Theresa's institute has. This lady is talking rubbish that Mother had a private jet, controlled millions of dollars in a Vatican bank etc etc..

When Mother Teresa was around, we had a steady stream of high-ranking foreign dignitaries or their spouses visiting her, but after her death, despite the fact that Sister Nirmala ( a home-grown Nun, not from Europe) is doing the same, if not greater work, not even 1% of those dignitaries visit nowadays. Quite strange, isn't it ?

She was the most kind women on earth. She worked for the people who were neglected, abandoned and even not concidered as human by Hindus on the Hindu belief of Karma. She adopted, treated and feed them and deed as much she can do for them and lived a great legacy of life.

To be honest, I'd rather have something than nothing. Imagine if there was no Mother Theresa in a newly independent India ravaging from famine and poverty and sickness? perhaps the sickness and poverty would have consumed more lives. I was once asked if i would dress up the wounds or feed a single meal to an abandoned boy on the roadside, for which i didn't know what to say. But the fact that someone lived their life to do that to atleast make the lives of these suffering a bit better than what was is significant enough. Let's put ourselves in this situation and think for a moment.

Some years back in an interview mother Teresa told that poverty, hunger & disease helps missionaries to work smoothly in India & city of joy is the best place for her mission. She collected donations in billions for charities & being minority institution, our secular state exempted all these donations from scrutiny & taxation.
