Thanks for the video Duanne! New Anytone 878 owner here. I have just opened it up and am watching the university videos. I’m also a new Ham. Just passed my tests for Tech & General in January. I had tried to get my DMR ID before this radio came in but they (RadioID.Net) are not accepting my printed out official license. As soon as I get that sorted with them I can move forward. For the SSID I would recommend 1, 2, 3, 4 or 7. 5 identifies you as an application like android, iphone, etc. Where 1 through 4 identify your as generic station, digi, mobile, wx, etc.. I would recommend 7, which is walkie talkie's, ht or other portable. Just my thoughts. Excellent video....looking at getting the 878 with hotspot....no DRM repeaters in my area (for now).

I have a D878UV plus, and D578 IIIpro, I am getting my aprs from my 878 but having trouble with my 578. I am going to get the DVMEGA soon. Do I need a new digital ID for each or is there a way to get them to report using the same number? I am new and there is a lot to learn. Thank you for your help.

Followed the setup but still can't seems to TX analog nor digital APRS

Hello, I watched the video and fellowed the instructions, I ran into a bug, I can't change the callsign in the APRS window.

The destination call sign and SSID are still confusing and everyone I have talked to has no idea what to place in these fields. My Anytone D878 was programmed with APDR10-0 but I have heard and tried APAT81-0 for this particular radio; doesn't seem to make any difference. Any suggestions?

Is D878UV able to send APRS messages? ie. to cellular mobile sms gateway or mail gateway? Cannot find any movie showing this feature on Anytone. Thanks!

FYI, my 878 analog aprs will not work if you use the standard PATH format. Any spaces or punctuation between the path designators will disable the analog aprs. This is what works: WIDE1-1WIDE2-1 I see some guys using the WIDE2-2 path to avoid this quirk. AE7MU

Ok from what I have been told the 868 does NOT have APRS.. is that not true? does 868 HAVE APRS? sorry i messages before i watch the video but am going to watch it now in hopes that the used 868 I have coming will have APRS and this will help me set it up when i get the HT

What I want to do with my AnyTone AT-D878UV is to send out a signal (I am avoiding using any associated Jargon here because I may mislead the treader if I use the wrong word) every 5 - 10 minutes, while riding my bicycle. I would like that transmission to include the current location, and ideally some short message (eg. "AF7JA Velomobile Monitoring 146.52"). Ideally, that would then show up on aprs.fi. There are people on that map, so I am sure it can be done. Is there any source of instruction that will help me do this?
