Sir, "Democracy is a form of government where the people rule or have a say in the decisions that affect them. " (Encyclopaedia Britanica) Republics (eg USA) and Monarchies (eg UK) can both be _types_ of democracy. Some Monarchies (eg Saudi Arabia) are not democracies. In the case of Saudi Arabia, the Royal Family effective makes all the decisions Some Republics (eg Russia) are not democracies Most countries that include the word "democracy" in their name, are definitely not democracies ! eg "Democratic People's Republic of Korea" (aka North Korea) Most countries that contain the name of a religion in their name, are definitely not democracies ! eg "Islamic Republic of Iran" There is no inherent contradiction between being a Constitutional Republic and a democracy. It's all down to whether or not the citizens get a say. On that basis, the USA is definitely a democracy.

Republicans and conservatives ranked Washington the greatest president, while Democrats ranked him third and independents, second. Democrats, independents, liberals and moderates rated Lincoln as the greatest president and Trump the worst.

Trump knew exactly what he was doing when he nominated Barrett, Kavanaugh and Gorsuch!! His primary reason was to appoint people who he felt would first and foremost be loyal to him and his protections from the law. Based on their extreme ideologies and extreme partisan views!
