Faith is the wrong term here, but yes, you're right... if you start converting one thing and then move to another you can get insta-converts. Since scouts have extra resistance it means things with lesser resistance will be converted instantly (because of maximum conversion times). This technique is usually done (coupled with redemption and theocracy) with buildings... you start converting a building, lure the enemy in and then switch your monks to the offending forces.

T90Official, did the designers purposefully leave that corner open so that tower hops would be possible? Because I'd think that it wouldn't be that hard to program the wall so that it would fill that spot in. It is a neat trick, but still seems like if you are going to start with walls, they should give you the full walls.

Sadly, I thought I had "skills" back in the day, now with their "meta" and all of their hotkeys, and how fast they are able to go between all of it, I'll never be able to compete, but playing against the AI, is good for me for now. (Tried a couple voobly and steam games... got reamed so hard by players rated so much lower than me.........)

I used to be one of the best DM players back then from 1999 to 2001. I used to be MaJoR_Jose_M, managed to get 8 accounts over 2k and one of them over 2.4k and another three over 2.3k back in "The Zone". I used to be the best Huns Wars players but was also good with other civilizations. Very good old days.

I agree it's all easy in retrospect, but there is no reason he shouldn't be able to think off walling off, maybe place the first tower above the market so if they enter the base they get shot at, he could have collected 25 stone for 1 tc, buy some stone for a second one, and basically feudal army couldn't harass his eco. Very panic stricken response made him lose the game. Even as a noob I could come up with that right away watching the tower hop going up. No way he should have lost that.

@Jamie Grimes Lol he doesn't have to place tower right away. When he saw tower being built and he couldn't place building he could have easily placed palisades or stone around the market that cock blocked to prevent entry. He saw it, and he should have rushed up to wall that bit off so after the tower is built and he deletes his market, then Dracont's walls will prevent him from advancing. He had plenty of time and could have made sure the tower rush didn't advance any further. Make 1 or 2 defensive towers and he should have been fine

@@lamegamer4607 again, no stone walls because he wasnt in feudal. he hit feudal just seconds before the second tower went up. so best case scenario, he has palisades around where the market was but the second tower still goes up and the palisades would fall so quick to tower and vills.

Because it's a waste of villager time if your opponent don't rush you, which most people don't do. Then you're behind.

Ch3ckm4t3, But if the game automatically started with those corner spots having walls like they would in any normal real life wall, then you wouldn't need to spend any villager time on it and it would make your base safer.

I know it has been a year since this comment, but still. if there wasn't a hole this wouldn't have happened, which is sad imo it's a good flaw? well maybe for me as a spectator because I never play aoe2 myself.

he was pushed off gold, plus he needed an answer to deal with the towers, im guessing he went with mangonels instead of rams for a more versatile defense, but imho the monks shouldve been able to provide enough defense to reclaim the gold, add in a few spears to defend the monks, which he did.. but he was also panicking so probably his mind was neglecting many things while trying to come up with a solution
