AOE2 Man at Arms Rush and Towers Build Order

Learn how to rush with Man at arms and Towers in AOE2. A men at arms rush is one of the strongest strategies to use in open map games and a tower rush is a great follow up in order to cause a lot of damage to your opponent.

You can use this AOE2 Man At Arms and towers to tower rush with a stronger economy and with any civ in age of empires 2 definitive edition and will be great with civs like incas and Koreans.
The age of empires 2 man at arms rush and tower rush is great for causing some early damage to you opponents. If done properly the tower rush can harass enemy wood lines, gold or berries, causing delays to your opponent and hopefully killing some villagers.

AOE2 Man At Arms and Towers Build Order is as follows:-
6 Sheep
4 wood with Lumber camp
1 lure boar
1 to make 2 houses then mill berries
3 to berries (lure 2nd boar with food villager)
3 boar
1 barracks + house then stone
2 gold
loom
click up to feudal age
make 3 militia
move 4 villagers from food to stone
get 40 gold in the bank
take 2 gold villagers and 3 food villagers and go to enemy base
Feudal Age
immediately research Man At Arms
build towers
attack villagers with men at arms
4 new vills to wood
make farms with final 3 sheep vills (cut stragglers trees if needed)
research Double Bit Axe & Horse Collar
keep making farms

I was going to ask this of you, actually! Bulgarians could be decent for their free m@a, koreans and incas area also obvious choices!

Yeah Bulgarians would be great for this. Lithuanians possibly too because of their food boost.

i will try it out with incas. Not sure if the best civ for tower rush but i really like meso civs.

I've tried it with malians a couple times and it works pretty well because your initial m@a are less likely to die from TC fire, and you can follow it up with a longswordsman all-in in the castle age (the +2 pierce armor allows you to go straight to the enemy TC and destroy it) and just end the game there and then if the initial attack caused enough of a delay to your opponent. Also the wood discount adds up with so many towers and the free gold mining helps smoothe out the transition to Castle age.

I created this strategy by myself with 22 villager pop and got little differences about order. Used Excel and resource/minute stats of villagers. I am continue creating man-at-arms till 5-10 of them aswell. Depending on situation but i calculated already my resources always enough to create more in cost of late castle age. Tought and tried a lot while creating. Didn't saw this strategy from other players in 80 games so i feel like i am genius strategy creator till i see this build. :D I am using Goths. They got cheap infantry and if you fail, you can come back with infantry spam on late game if success with towers i am following up with castle drop and enemy resigns. Winning %80 of 1v1 games unranked. But match elo must be around 1000-1100. Games usually go around 20-45 minutes.

Now that they've added Poles to aoe2, I finally have to look at how the trush is actually made. It's the perfect strategy for them.

I'm thinking about doing a modified version of this with Bulgarians. Idea being that since MAA is free, we only need 10 gold, so no need for an extra mining camp, which should lead to better eco later on. Any thoughts on this?

Do you have any build orders for goths specifically? Because most orders wont work with them cos instant loom. Should you get one more vil in general or go up quicker?

It’s certainly possible but it would delay your castle age time by quite a lot so if it didn’t do much damage it would be gg but I suppose you’d just need to do a normal scout rush and then add 2 or 3 on stone and send 2 or villagers forward.

Thanks! I often use the mongol scout rush, got decent results haha but my micro still aint that good so i lose many scouts to spearman often
