📝 Description:
Apartment hunting in Seattle, touring apartments, and moving! In this vlog, I tour apartments and sign a new lease! You'll see me move from my first place I lived outside of college (a studio apartment) to a 2 bedroom apartment with my boyfriend. We are looking in Capitol Hill, Queen Anne, and Ballard/Fremont. See which apartment we ended up choosing and let us know which one you would choose! When we finally moved in, we also went on a hike to lake 22 and celebrated Julian's birthday.

Seattle is so beautiful!! I considered Vancouver, Canada but it might be impossible right now, so I think Seattle is also a good option!

Oh my gosh Julian lovesss Vancouver. I've only been once but he says the city does a really good job with their waterfront. On the bright side, I'm in love with Seattle so I'd vouch for Seattle haha the Winters are a bit rough with the gloomy weather but the nature just 30 min outside of the city are insane. I lived without a car for the first year and just went hiking with friends/took the bus but if I had a car as an option to have in my first year, I'd recommend a car (if that was something you were wondering about)!

I hope this isn’t repeated! Not sure if the first comment went through. I don’t drive yet but plan to soon! I want to be an actor so I think Vancouver is a good home based city. If the commute is too much though I will be reconsidering Atlanta or LA. Thanks for the tips!

Oh! I love finding places with lots of windows. I also do videos and photos so natural lighting is always needed. Plus, it helps the place look bigger! I live closer to Tacoma right now but trying to find a job in Seattle in hopes to move up there! :) It’s nice down here too but I just want to try city living.

Yess! Lake 22! It was only an 1.5 hour drive from where I live. I think it wins favorite hike from me so far although I'm not a super experienced hiker 😂

Ahhhh I just have to say something about that coffee. The method you’re using is called a pour over because you’re pouring hot water over coffee grounds. For this method you should be using a fine grind and your beans basically look whole 😣 I promise you will have better coffee if you use a fine grind for that brewing method. No hate but I was shocked to see basically whole beans in that filter.

For someone who is going to be living in Seattle for 3 months, would I gain the most experiencing Seattle in cap hill, Queen Anne, fremont, or in Ballard? (I like to be by the water, but I also like being able to walk around and find things to do easily, I want to be able to navigate without a car, but I don’t necessarily want the unsafeness of a city..) I won’t need have a car so I do want to do what’s best for the summer

Capitol Hill is BY FAR the most walkable neighborhood in Seattle. Broadway runs through the middle of Capitol Hill and it has everything. Restaurants, retail, coffee shops, grocery stores, bars, clubs. If you really want to be close to water you might want to look at Madison Park (pretty expensive), Ballard (kinda isolated from the rest of the city) or Green Lake ( a few miles north of downtown). If you really want to experience Seattle I would strongly recommend Capitol Hill. Queen Anne is also a cool, walkable neighborhood.

Ahh yay!! I take the city bus or MSFT shuttle. Pre pandemic, if I'm remembering right, it was 15-20 min in the morning and then ~30-40 min in traffic in the evening. I take the city bus more than the MSFT shuttle though because it was more convenient for me

Hi! I absolutely loved your video! Im moving from California to Seattle in a couple of days and your comment about street parking kinda threw me off. My apartment has street parking as well, but do I need to have a Washington license plate in order to park on the street? Will I get towed otherwise?

As for street parking, this is the page I was looking at: www.seattle.gov/transportation/permits-and-services/permits/parking-permits/rpz-permits/how-to-get-a-permit and it says the vehicle needs to be registered in WA state. For us, it didn't make sense since my boyfriend is only here temporarily but hopefully that source can help clear it up more than me 😆 Good luck on your move! Sending you good juju for a smooth move

I lived in Ballard and Cap Hill. Much preferred Ballard actually. Way less crazy. Cap Hill is overrated.

I live in Bellevue for $1800 a month with two bed and one bath. It’s about 25 mins drive to cap hill.

@@swangxswang I love it. It's definitely more quite here than in cap hill. I can't walk down a block and have local coffee shop like Cap Hill, but I'm not far from downtown bellevue. I live in Lakemont. So near Factoria/Bellevue area. I work in Cap Hill near ghost note coffee. I feel a lot safer here. $1800 for two bed and one bath, a dining room area, living room, deck, storage room outside the deck, washer/drying room and pantry. Its not bad. Definitely worth living a bit farther and getting a better deal.
