I have an idea for you to try... What if you put the big heavy art piece on the fireplace mantel (centered) and put the rug and boomerangs with your collage wall behind the couch? That would bring some nice textures into the collage and give your grandparents art a focal point on the mantel, plus if it sits on the mantel you dont have to worry about its weight. :)

I honestly hope that you can keep doing this KZfaq thing you're doing for a really long time, because you inspire so, so many people to consider low waste and to live more sustainably, myself included. Back in school I never thought that living a low waste lifestyle would be so fun and freeing and inspiring, but in university I discovered your channel and my life and financial situation and happiness have improved so much since living more sustainable and minimal and I'll be forever thankful to your channel, Gittemarys channel and Shelby as well. 💗💗💗 I wish you all the best on your journey and all the health and happiness in the world, beautiful apartment by the way. 💗

I have heard that! The only thing is that we have a very minimal set of dishes and really don't use that many so it would take us days to fill our dishwasher if we used it and we'd run out of dishes hehe 🙈But using little dishes also saves us water! It all depends on what kind of things you tend to cook I think and if you let the water run/etc. Individual technique, if you will hahaha 💛But I definitely don't know the exact stats on how much we use in comparison so it's hard to say x

@@The1cagirl When I do dishes, I spray any easy grime off and then turn the water off. I have a dual sink, so I put them all the right. Then I soap up dishes and put them in the left. That way my water is off 90% of the time. My dish washer uses so much water, and takes a long time to wash.
@ceebee1461

You can still use your dish washer as a massive drying wrack ;) that’s what I’ve done in past places with washers. It’s like a drying wrack cabinet to avoid having to put dishes away once they dry.

If you are more into liquid soap you can always melt a bar down. ( we use a cleaned out Franks red hot bottle to hold ours) : How to make........ Place a bar of Castile soap in a large mason jar and fill to the top with water. Put the whole jar in a pot on the stove with an inch or two of water and boil until all the soap is melted in. I add a tablespoon of vinegar for a disinfectant and 10-20 drops of your favorite essential oil. (Peppermint!!) This will fill my franks bottle 2x and lasts me 6-8 weeks for the cost of a bar of soap.

To think of how much of a different 3 hours worth of travel makes it's crazy. 😆 The secondhand scene doesn't exist like this where I live. Also, if you do get compostable trash bags, get a very small amount of them first. They've been known to disintigrate in people's trash, and since you make a deliberate effort to create less waste it might disintigrate into yours as well just from time.
