Your videos are helpful and you have ever been candid and sincere to your viewers. I am applying for a Jira Admin role internship( 3 months). I have never used JIRA and i need to get this opportunity to get started by availing the internship opportunity and the deadline is just 3 days away from now. However, I am in a dilemma regarding what I should specifically focus on for learning JIRA administration and doing it practically, meaning what will help me with the actual JIRA Admin role. What should my main focus and concern be as a JIRA Admin.( skills, JIRA Concepts, practices) Also do help me with the interview questions that you think would be asked from a JIRA Admin candidate. And how to provide good practical solution answers to those questions and convince the interviewer and show him that I have the repertoire and practical knowledge of JIRA administration.

Do you have an advanced Jira admin course, which covers cloning and migrating team managed project to company managed one and some automation etc?

Not yet, but I've added this to my backlog of things to add to my advanced Jira course. Currently wrapping up a Jira Admins for beginners. . . but that one doesn't cover migration from team -> Company managed projects.

Hey Alex. Just wondering your thoughts. I've been working in IT over 10 years. My current company went from dedicated Jira shop but in last 2 years migrated over to SNOW. I absolutely hate SNOW but enjoyed Jira. I'm thinking of maybe training more in depth in Jira and getting a dedicated Jira admin role but wondering if it's still worth it? Seems like most companies are switching over to SNOW.

I absolutely hate SNOW. It's the worst thing in the world of IT (next to Rally). I would say, maybe your team should evaluate Jira Service Management as that is the closest competitor.

@@ApetechTechTutorials I work for a big size company so I have no say in changes. I believe we switched to SNOW because the management and big heads want it because it offers more metrics, tracking, how long it takes us to complete requests, etc.... I hate it because it's clunky, overkill items, too many tabs, too many fields and often it takes 5 steps just to close the ticket!!!

Is it possible to be a Jira Admin with experience in using Jira? I am a Scrum Master and I was looking into this and was wondering if there is a cert you would need to help you stick out in applications for Jira Administration

I think that naturally, the more you use Jira, the more qualified you are to become a Jira Admin. I would look at the ACP's for Jira cloud to get you going in the right direction.

what the purpose of Products

The products configuration page? 2 main things. If you are a Jira premium user, that's where you do your configurations for the advanced roadmaps feature. For everyone else, it's where you connect to your SCM.

Why do you hate team managed projects?

From a Jira Admin perspective, they are great because it's less work for me . . in the short run. In the long run, most folks don't know what they want, they don't know best practices, and giving everyone the ability to make changes (and accounting for attrition), just ends up creating a nightmare for Jira admins. I don't like to have nightmares.
