I've since changed a few things with filter cutoffs, note velocities, and balancing. I think it's a bit closer! Roughly 55-60 hours of work total. Enjoy!

It feels like I’m hearing this song for the first time

Ah, how I wish I could do that again. Thank you! :)

I have a couple tips: Turn the reverb down, it kinda sounds like in you're in a massive cathedral Make the kick more pronounced and less washed out Great work though 👍🏻

I totally agree, listening back I already have a laundry list of improvements to make. Hopefully this summer I'll be picking up an Alesis Midiverb, working with digital effects drives me insane.

Excellent as always, Renoise is a complex thing imho. Btw, what's that noise in the background? From PC?
@halogens8185 ай бұрын
Thank you! Renoise is somethin else, for sure. Xtal was recorded on damaged tapes (according to legend), so the noise is from a vinyl simulation plugin in an attempt to emulate the grittiness of it. It hasn't got the tape warble or the phasing effect, but it's somethin! Appreciate the kind words.

This is very dope! Is this all sounds is just sample sources? No VST's running here? 💜
@halogens8185 ай бұрын
Everything is sampled! I sourced the original song used for the lead pad and chopped/processed it a number of times to get the result I wanted, and all drums come from the R8-MkII and its expansion cards. The horns are sourced from an orchestral live sample set which was post processed. I didn’t want to use any pre-edited samples, so I could have more control in fine tuning things. Thanks for the kind words!

Very kind words!! Thank you so much :,)

I think the pad needs a slight vibrato and more reverb.
@halogens8183 ай бұрын
I agree! The vibrato likely comes from the tape, and the reverb is likely from an Alesis reverb unit. I plan on scooping one up soon to run my effects through instead of doing it digitally, which I struggle with.

Very impressive! I also made a recreation on my channel, although the one you made is complete 👏

What's keeping someone from just playing the original and showing random screens from a DAW
@halogens818Ай бұрын
Nothing! I wish this was as close as that, though.
