I just watched Apocolypto for the first time and just like the trailer said, it is like nothing I (or anyone in this century) has ever experienced. I haven't been so blown away by a movie since watching The Revenant!

I've just watched it on my TV! My God, what an amazing movie this is. I loved every second of it. Characters, story, atmosphere it was all top notch! Cuddos to Mel Gibson and every actor and crew member who worked on this project! 10/10

This is one if the best movies I have ever seen! It's an absolute masterpiece. I keep re-watching it from time to time and am always amazed at the beauty of direction and acting. Mel is a genius! We need more films like this.

Was stoked the moment I heard about this film as the maya have fascinated me since Middle School. While I am not much of a Mel Gibson fan and despite its historic inaccuracies, this is an incredible movie. Hope to see more (and accurate) ones about the Maya and other great Mesoamerican cultures done in the near future as representation does matter.

@@JeanMarieDuchesne There were a few inaccuracies in terms of clothing in some instances. The village was far too primitive looking for a Mayan settlement, there are no rivers or waterfalls in the Yucatan-only cenotes and also the film seems to be set during the Classic Maya Collapse which took place in 900 AD yet in the end shows the conquistadors expedition of Juan De Grijalva which took place in 1518 in the Post-Classic period.

Apocalyptic was crazy good! Mel Gibson is one of my favorite directors and he captures the human spirit to survive so well in this movie! Action packed, mystical, historical, realistic don’t begin to describe this movie! Totally recommend but not for children!

Defo something to marvel at. It is a breathtaking and full of adrenaline wild ride. Id say maybe a few unbelievable scenes. The guys waiting to have their hearts cut out. I’d never just stand and wait. Then the running to the corn field. Ok 2 went and two died. Next 2 leaving alot of the blue prisoners behind. Only as camera looked back after leaders son killed, strangely all the blue prisoners had vanished. Arrow to the side and then running all night. Next day to have arrow to shoulder. Hmmmmm. Film was good though but for those little misdemeanours

I am Mexican, and I love the movie. But it has many historical errors. The Mayans did not eat raw meat, nor did they live miserably, and in loincloths as the movie shows. They were a farming people, with a very complex writing system, they did poetry, theater, they were very good mathematicians. The human sacrifices as shown in the movie, resemble the Aztecs, not the Mayans. And it seems absurd to me that civilization was frightened by an eclipse, when the Mayans had a highly developed knowledge of astronomy.

Amazing movie. It's funny how Mel Gibson showed how stupid religion is. Not sure if that was his plan or not? Pretty cool how he showed how they heal wounds with ant heads. One thing I find strange is for a people who run around in the woods and have piercing that look like they are made to snag on a branch and rip your face off . But all in all a great film
