Apollo DBX-18 Problems-Transmission Failure- FIXED!

After shredding some gears in the transmission, i got some replacements and got the Apollo back on the track! I had to split the cases so i needed a full gasket kit to replace the case gasket, cylinder gasket and head gasket. See the link below for the gears i ordered that were an exact fit

Love that! I’ve started a rebuild on an original 1970’s Honda I’m doing a video on, which the China 125’s are built after. Once i tear my 125 down again I’ll be sure to do a full rebuild video! Thanks for the sub!! Safe riding!

What other plastic fuel tanks will fit this apollo?i thought a ttr 110 might...? i just dont feel like paying 100 bucks for the one by apollo...any suggestions?

hey i got a question why vis mine shifter stuck i tried to open the right side to check remove everything but the little wheel that used to turn to shift is stuck, you need force to get it on gear.

Whassup Tynka. Purchased Apollo about 3 weeks ago, Thanks for info on swapping carb. My son was riding the bike yesterday and suddenly, the bike stopped shifting. Its stuck in 1st gear. Shifter wont move AT ALL. Clutch engages and disengages but shifter wont budge. AT ALL! Any suggestions? Im a diy'er myself however, i dont know where to start.

pbemusicgroup I’ve had mine somewhat do what you’re saying. Pull your clutch cover off, your clutch, and big gear. Try shifting it and watch the levers inside the engine. I’d bet one is jammed up somewhere

@@TynkaTyme Whassup Tynka, Im about to take off the clutch cover. Wish me luck. The gear shifter however wont budge at all so I cant shift to see if anything is getting jammed up. Anything i should be looking for?

Do you think when jumping pulling the clutch in would help put less stress on the trans when you land?

Jared Valente i never do, I’m always on the gas as soon as i hit the ground, so don’t have time to worry about pulling the clutch in unless im brake tapping to control the bike in the air.

Never tried to look for one, i would start with vmcchineseparts.com , tboltusa.com or apollo themselves. It’s called a shift drum stopper

gmodesike wasn’t shifting hard, just the impact of hitting the ground probably put too much tension on the chain to the output shaft and cause the teeth to break internally

my apollo bike is having troubles with the clutch i think it starts up and when ever i shift to first the bike wants to take off without me releasing the clutch

Gustavo Ramirez have you tried adjusting it at the lever? If that don’t work, there’s a cable adjustment about 3/4 of the way down on the cable.

Tynka Tyme i have adjusted the one on the bars the one ur saying and the one with the 10 mm bolt and it shifts now but it still goes without releasing the clutch

Gustavo Ramirez clutches aren’t very much, it would be worth just replacing the clutch and that would probably fix your issue

You won’t ever get it, so don’t waste your time.. still waiting on my warranty gears to show up, been a year. Lol. But to submit a claim you just contact who you got your bike through and send them proof of purchase

@@TynkaTyme glad someone else has rebuilt one of these transmissions. Finding parts is such a pain with these china bikes. I found 3 sets of "YX" engine transmissions and all 3 had different diameters or lengths 🤣 I modified one I had to work, until a gnarly downshift took out a few teeth!

True..I've been reading a good amount of mixed reviews that are kind of recent and most of the negative ones are the delivery time being kind of long or not really getting good customer service even from sites that have had better reviews in the past. I'm assuming a lot of those issues stem from the covid deal and most likely losing employees and also only being able to have a small amount of employees withing a area

Good video. And I also like that the music is tolerable. The new age of video creators put the absolute worst background sound that makes me want to switch back to netflix after sticking ice picks in my ears. I compare their background.music to dubstep without the bass (absolutely dreadful) or kpop without the gay guys

There’s guys like you in the world, and guys like me. I like to spend the 40 dollars and learn everything thing about the internals of my engine while I’m in there. So a learning experience plus saving 240 dollars? Sounds like a win/win to me
