Yes I think you do need it. The teachers guide has a lot of more in depth information for you as the teacher as far as the activities and concepts. Not to mention all the activity sheets are in the back. Hope this helps!

We haven’t started it yet, just wanted to give a little flip through and overview looking at the curriculum. There is a little activity or game pretty much everyday. They are pretty simple. I would imagine it wouldn’t take more than 20 minutes or so looking at the lesson. The end of the unit projects are a little more involved but not overwhelming. There is a list of supplies at the beginning of each unit and also a master supply list in the back of the book things like, paper cups, uno cards, pipe cleaners, dice, beans, dot stickers, play doh, paper clips, crayons things like that. There are Some specialty items like linking cubes, base ten blocks, 3d shapes, pattern blocks... I will definitely be doing updates as our year goes on using it

The teachers guide has some teaching tips in it as well as the activity pages and answers. The actual lesson is in the student book. :)

@@gemmasummer7337 Most of what I’ve seen of the faith is just at the beginning of a unit which is easily skipable. You may also run into an occasional story problem that may say something about church or something in it. Hope this helps!

Almost every lesson has an opening activity. Some of the activities have game boards or activity pages from the back, but not all of them. Some of the activities have to do with using uno card or beans or something.

I believe I had mentioned in one of my update videos quite awhile ago, but when we moved into level 5 after completing level 4 it just seemed like a huge jump for my daughter. We had to pause and reinforce skills last year. We spent most of last year back tracking. This year as I was looking for more hands on programs we stumbled across Apologia and I knew I wanted to use it for my first grader and decided to try it with my older daughter too. Math mammoth is a great very solid program, it just seems maybe better for kids who are naturally a bit stronger in math

Hi, so we just started using it yesterday so we haven’t got a lot of experience with it yet. But so far, it takes roughly 15-20 minutes with the activity each day. I’m sure this will vary depending on the activity and if it is a more challenging concept for the child. Most of the lesson is in the student book, however there is also some information inside the teachers guide. For example how to set up activities and also guidelines on if you should save certain things for other lessons and info on how to go about explaining or practicing a concept further if needed.
