I'm german, and I grew up with the original by Peter Schilling. I know all the cover versions, and I can honestly say, that this one is hands down the best of them! 🤩

I know both of them since my youth and early clubbing days... most non-descript BS ever. Major Tom is one of my favourite 80's songs. I was relcutant to listen to this but I am SO glad I did. This is sooooo good!!! I love it!

Peter Schilling (the original performer) did a German version and an English version. This is (obviously) a cover of the English version with a little homage to the German version at the end.

Beautiful video - Well done, RBFBF! Regarding the cover - SUPERB! Or as my husband said - APOP managed to refresh this classic (but so "tired") song so he can really enjoy while listening :) (And he better enjoy it - kids asking to play it as soon as we get into the car :)))) Every single time, especially our 6 years old boy :)))

I figured they tried the atmosphere, knowing with the broken wing they were doomed, but better to die fast than slow. The astronauts die (lights from 2001), while the shuttle bounces out of the atmosphere completely trashed.

I really didn't expect to like this. The music is a little jarring unfortunately and the beginning probably needs an epilepsy warning, but the choice of clips is very well done.
