This is nothing short of impressive. Kudos to The Hooters. They were always a great band, but doing this in German is just on another level altogether.

I just stumbled upon this completely by accident. I am only kind of familiar with The Hooters because of hits like Johnny B. or All You Zombies, never really gave it more thought than that. But this was beyond amazing. They gave an incredible performance and the crowd was absolutely loving it. Understandably so, because performing the whole thing in pretty decent German is very impressive. I've loved that song since my childhood, so this brought a huge smile to my face. :)

I´m from Germany and I remember some years ago seeing two huge advertising posters side by side. One read "The Hooters" (an ad for their tour), and the other one, next to it, showed a bra... 😆

They sing in german language. It's the same band, who sang "500 Miles" and "Johnny B."???

Yes. Eric Bazilian in particular has always made an effort to speak German. There were reports at one time that he was working with Klaus Lage.

They worked together with Heinz Rudolf Kunze who wrote a german version of "Private Emotion". The song "Heimliche Sehnsucht" was released by the Hooters as a single in 1994.

Yah, you can find an older video from a few years before this when they first started doing this song in small clubs in Germany and he had to read the lyrics from paper and still had trouble with some of the words. They've gotten really good since. Great song and love seeing someone still doing it along with Peter Schilling.

What is the line up there? Of course Rob Hyman and Eric Bazilian are still there - and I think that's John Lilley on guitar and Frank Smith Jr on bass. Is it still David Uokonnen on drums? It has been a few years since I last saw them, so they are a little older and I am not quite sure. They have also added a new member, who I think is on mandoline. Any information anyone?

@alexj.murphy93906 жыл бұрын
Yes, David U. on drums, and Tommy Williams on guitars/mandolin - Tommy is from NYC, and joined group as a fill-in a few years back when Eric broke his shoulder and couldn't play guitar, has been there ever since!
@jbloodwo6 жыл бұрын
Alex J. Murphy yes. Definitely Dave U. Cool guy I worked with him not long after he left MP3.com. He was in there A/R group.
