I appreciate this video. I currently work in social media but want to switch industries to something I can do remotely (with less client facing work or just general marketing bs) and I was considering the part time course for 48 weeks. It sounds intensive but honestly worth it to get real knowledge and switch industries

Can you get the same results from the 24 week program online as with an in person bootcamp? Are there any additional preps to doing bootcamps online? Anything you wished your already knew before starting online?

Bro truly appreciate you doing this video! there is not that many videos out there about app academy. I'm here trying to go down the same road as you bruh and i was wondering what did you do to get prepared because i feel like ima fail that interview to get into the bootcamp. i've already took the bootcamp prep and did a mock interview. ima a slow ass learner and any advice would be grearful.

Hi, thanks for the vid! Did you do the 16 wks or 24 wks immersive? I'm attending the 24wks one starting Feb however, I'm concerned about failing the assessments. What are your experiences with the assessments? How tough is it to pass every week?
@papiramses3 жыл бұрын
Yea I’m in the 24 weeks online! I wouldn’t say the assessments are hard besides a handful, as long as you put in the work/time you’ll do great!! You need to be prepared to feel lost and confused for most of the time lol but before you realize it you’ll be coding beyond what you though you’d be able to accomplish

How are you doing so far?
@hampster103 жыл бұрын
I'm on week 2 so far and omg it's like a constant grind every single day. I'm really enjoying the learning process so far though but it's true what they say about the workload. It's a very steep learning curve and I went in with little to no coding experience. So because of that, I'm putting in 15 hours a day coding. It's literally my life. So even though they say that you don't have to have experience for the online one, I think everyone should try learning the javascript basics before attending, it'll save you a lot of time. Just STUDY every day. Honestly, it's so fast paced and a lot of material to retain that missing a day will greatly set you aback. So yeah, app academy is not for the weak-hearted. Besides that, you do learn a lot and the curriculum is really good. Just be prepared, especially in the financial aspect, before you think about attending. That being said, I can't imagine how anyone doing any coding bootcamp that is only 3-4 months unless they have lots of coding experience or they can retain lots of info super fast(highly unlikely).

@@hampster10 wow I loved the first module it was so great! Yea I agree there were a lot of weeks during project week where my team and I would sleep 2-3 hours a night to code. But they really teach you how to be comfortable being lost and uncomfortable and being able to pick up any new material very quickly! Before you know it it’ll be week 18 and you look back at where you started and are absolutely mind blown how far you’ve come! I wish you the best of luck mate! Keep putting up your work but don’t get burnt out And always make sure to ask your questions

@TonyC26623 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for the vid! I'm about to sign on the dotted line to attend the one in February by my question to you is do you feel that the actual immersive bootcamp is worth it? The only thing that I am going back and forth on is how much I will be paying them from the ISA plan, not sure if that is the same payment plan you are on as well. I know 100% that a/A is capable and the courses are fantastic, just at what cost?
@papiramses3 жыл бұрын
Nice I wish you the best of luck!! If you see Joe Alvis tell him ramses says hi!!! Also I personally so far feel it’s been worth because the way they teach, the skills they teach not the coding but instead a way of learning and being able to pick up technologies on the fly is a HUGEEE asset not including the pair programming, the connections, and the career quest is all so helpful Also I need a sorta structure to be able to learn so app academy was perfect for me But I agree the price is a bit hefty 😅

how confident do you feel that you'll actually get a job paying $90k+ ?? Really curious!
@papiramses3 жыл бұрын
Well most high salaries are in big states like New York, Cali, texas , Georgia etc where median salary for SWE is close 6 figures From my state the median pay is wayyyyyyyy smaller so my confidence for 90k isn’t crazy high if I stay in my state because the median pay here for SWE is 50-70k and the “really high” salaries are low end 6 figures
@hustlewithjulian51183 жыл бұрын
@@papiramses gotcha what state are you in? I live in California and 70 grand here it’s not too much. In order for me to consider it would have to at least be $90k+. So I guess how confident do you feel that they will lock in a job for you at a good comparable pay for your state?
