Thank you Brother Donnie for sharing this story. I’ve never heard anything about this story in my life. I remember in High School taking a Kentucky history class. What a great Story Teller you are! Loved the picture's too. Time just keeps rolling along. Generations gone, new one's come up, then.. their gone. This Story really shows us how temporary life is. I thank God for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and an Eternal future with him. Also, I saw there have always been good guy's and outlaw's. Then, they fought it out, now we put them in Prison. The story explains how we got law and order in our land. And finding out about how posse's got started, unless you watched Gun Smoke, like me.. growing up. Gotta love you Donnie❤going to look for another Story now. So thankful to have found you❤. Prayed for you this morning.💜💚🧡

Lost Cove was the same way with Tn./N.C. So when I was young in Unicoi, Tennessee up Marbleton rd. In a little cow field holler. There was this little cabin with no power, spring water, outhouses and you could only see it in winter. I was always told “thats where your great uncle , the last outlaw in these parts had a shootout and escaped local police and fbi to never be seen again”. History has a way of disappearing.😢

It's been a bit since you told a story like this Donnie! I appreciate that you never shy away from them. Your honesty in how you tell them is what makes your stories so special! You're right, there's good and bad everywhere. We had a place in Georgia that tried that trick with two counties instead. It worked until the State finally did something about them! Wasn't near as cool as this story though! Y'all take care now! May God bless you and yours. 😊

This reminded me of the bit in the movie Sgt York with the bar on the state line. Sounds like H'wood borrowed the story. Thanks Donnie!

I see that they changed the spelling from Middleborough to the more "modern" Middlesboro; but, when I lived there in the 60's it had the longer spelling. Thank you Donnie for your time and effort to give a history of my hometown. I never heard of the fire. I really do look forward to receiving your videos. They are like receiving letters from home.😌

Harry, are you kin to Mick Marsee?

@@jameslandstoffer3205 Possibly a second or third cousin; but, I don't know him personally. My widowed mother moved out of Middleborough in the 60's when I was a child. I know of the Marsee family in Middleborough and am related to them; but, distant cousins only.

@@HarryMarsee-fw9ot Thanks Harry. I used to visit Mick and family in the mid 60's I worked with Mick in Indiana back then. I liked Middlesboro back then and remember being up on Takett creek I think it was. wondered if they were still around around. Thanks for your reply.
