@@bigoz1734 me too and I still get the odd burn to the head or legs from splatter, I know old school fabricators who don't wear gloves but wear a helmet, their skin on the hands all blotchy and sickly. @@livingadamman7994 it's true. When I was taught to weld they said how the burns of a welder can lead to cancer if you're welding enough. It's not that hard to wear a mask, globes and jacket. Makes for a more comfortable welding situation. You look at the pipeline welders, industrial highrise welders, fabricators at ARB or raslarr and they're covered head to toe. Some guys even have a breathing apparatus.

3:50 yes, the grinder produces some heat, but on the structural hollow sections, cutting them length-wise releases stresses built in from manufacturing. Cut a face out of square hollow section (SHS) or rectangular hollow section (RHS) and it's usual for the remaining piece to spring inwards a little. The face cut from the section, as you've shown, will nearly always curl back on itself. Use a jigsaw with a metal blade, which produces far less heat than a grinder, and it will still curl back on itself.

Harrop, Yeek!! Have a look at the small diameter hemisphere. They could have made it bigger and stronger, it is a lot smaller than the powerlock LSD. Also, the cross-shaft in the Eaton is piss-weak, three piece and pissy diameter. Small spider gears inside a small carrier. The locking engagement ring is also a weak area - and then there is the issue of it unlocking when you change direction! In comparison to a Pro-locker, the Eaton is a joke.

I don't know if you changed the front diff centre as well, but if you didn't know, your front and rear axles will have different speeds at the wheels creating torsion and stress within the axels. Also, your odometer is also probably out of alignment as it is but it will definitely be worse with this diff centre changed. Also, if the previous diff centre used red lock tight, it needs heat to liquefy the lock tight in order for you to remove the bolt, you will also need to do the same thing with the new diff if you ever need to remove the crown gear again.

I know this is a few months on but really a boilermaker or even a welder has no business inspecting welds other than casting a professional eye over it and making comments, if you wanted to properly have them inspected welds are inspected by someone with Qa/Qc qualifications and really only person who can really say they can inspect it other than just professional knowledge is a certified welding inspector (CSWIP) but that’s really fucking overkill for a diff brace. Most state laws just require chasis welding to be inspected by an automotive engineer, same people that certify GVM upgrades and the like.

So what are the legalities of this. Does it have to be signed off by an engineer?
@KieranRand
@KieranRand 4 жыл бұрын
In Aus, if the diff was a factory option then no engineering is required. Which this one was a factory option in leaf rear aswell as 4.8 models. Bracing a diff also doesn’t need engineering cert however seeing a braced diff will make the police look over your car more thoroughly.

@@KieranRand fair enough thanks for that. Strange that a chassis cant be welded too and shit. But the diff can go to town. Cool to know.
@KieranRand

krump 7 chassis can be welded to its just not recommended. As long as chassis’ are correctly fishplates and all work is conducted by someone who is qualified. The steel used in chassis is tempered and welding to it changes its properties hence why it isn’t recommended.

I have been watching this channel for over two years, there have been no "built not bought" for some time, selling T-shirts and advertisements with sentiment I return to the episodes from 2017-2018

Mate, reality check, you need to put $$ into the 80 series cruiser, she won't let you down. You've proven time and time again Patrols weak, break when you need them to be awesome and even Fraser Island towing states they are the number one vehicle they tow off the island (one a day this week already)!! Just saying. But back to the work you did. Nice job but is that bracing water tight? If not put some holes in so you can flush inside the bracing with fresh water after a big trip.

@@JS-tb9hu They don't need 500hp to break, they break shit all the time. There's a reason most comp rigs use Nissan drivelines, but reality check dufus doesn't get it. :)

The reality we can't ignore; 1. When you die the real you( the spirit inside your body) either goes to Heaven or hell. 2. Who goes to hell? those who don't believe at Christ as the savior. e. Who goes to Heaven? Those who believe at Christ as the savior. No works can save you, there is no physical thing you can do to get saved but you are only saved through faith at what Jesus did for you as simple as that. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. In other words if you want to go to heaven after your death you must confess with your mouth and believe that Jesus Christ was crucified and he shed his blood for your sins at the cross and was buried but risen again on the third day and alive in heaven now. After believing at Christ as the savior you must change your ways and try to stay away from bad works or sins as hard as possible, you must show that you are a new individual in Christ. e.g stopping fornication, getting drunk, homosexual acts, masturbation, pornography e.t.c. As a human you will still fall at some sins of course as no human is perfect, but you must not swim in sin you must try your best to fight against sins and live a righteous life. Also grow in the word; I suggest the following KZfaq channels; Real bible believers, Robert Breaker and Pastor J.D Farag..
