It's so interesting that some pastors claim the Jezebel Spirit is the worst, most seductive ever, but Jezebel in Revelation sounds an awful lot like the error of Baalam. In fact, the combo of idolatry and sexual immorality (and magic arts, thefts etc) is all over Revelation as an end times condition.

Yes, Whenever sexual sin was discussed at church, it was focused on male homosexuality and prostitution. So. perpetrators in that dynamic are gay men and female prostitutes. Notice how male ( heterosexual ) sex sin was not discussed and yet we know how prevalent male driven sexual sin is in all societies. I believe God is angry about this hypocrisy.

I was in Turkey 2 weeks ago and visited most of the historical places,the seven churches. But we didn't go to Antioch due to the earthquake that happened in the boundary between Turkey and Syria. It was really an interesting tour. Hope some day can be back to Turkey again.

@Adeline Dile I just arrived from Turkey. I didn't visit lots of places. I have friends in the earthquake areas and they wanted me to visit them but the tour guides said it is not safe for me to go so, I didn't. I hope to go again to Turkey and visit the seven churches of the book of Revelation.

There's an American Professor living in Turkey. His focus is Christianity and he literally goes out and walks all over Turkey looking for sites. He takes pics, most of which are the only pics of these ancient sites. Many are in hard to get to places, but he goes. I am sure you know who I am talking about. I only saw him once in a video either by him or about him. He found a Roman Road, or was it the one that Paul literally walked on? I can't recall but noone knew it was there. Meanwhile the highway was just a little ways over. He finds stones with menorrahs or crosses on them. He gives a lot of history of the area around the time of Paul being there. Speaks about the shoreline and piracy that was so prevalent they built watch towers to keep eyes out for them as they approach in their ships, then they all run and hide. Some pirates just jumped ship and remained in Turkey. In the video, he goes out to the contested island where a guy he knows found an ancient gold ring! It was really eye opening and interesting and this video reminded me of that video. Well done. I can't wait to watch more, but duty calls for a bit. Thank you for doing these vids, even if I've only found them 2 yrs on lol.

There was a lot of support in ancient literature for the claim that Satan had his throne at Pergamum, and Paul's missionary journey's specifically excluded this part of what is now Turkey, apparently because it was either too dangerous for Paul and other missionaries or because it was unlikely to result in many believers, since Satan held such powerful sway over the region. Being just an empty ruin today, Pergamum was probably abandoned by Satan, but Turkey has still been an especially powerful force for evil in the world, including massacring the Armenians so savagely, when the Armenians were the world's first Christian country after Cyril and his brother went there as missionaries, giving them the Cyrillic alphabet and having great success after curing the Armenian king's daughter, as I recall.

Yes, Asclepius was the god of healing, usually the son of Apollo. Snakes were sacrificed to him. He was of the 'wounded god' archetype, being lame. Some scholars think that the rod started as a stick for winding out of the skin a worm that hatches from a particular fly's egg. These flies that laid their eggs under a host's skin (including human skin) were common in parts of Africa.......or, so I have read.

Of course what Pergamum is famous for is that it had the second most famous library in the ancient world, and was competing with Alexandria to collect all the extant literature - and the most famous scholars - out there. Kind of like Cambridge vs. Oxford. But, the insights of the oncologist was also interesting:)

I spent a great deal of time studying why Yeshua condemned Pergamos. He rarely condemned anything or anyone. The idolatry, the persecution and much more were all things that YHWH of Yeshua would forgive and not condemn them on the spot. Why did He call it the seat of Satan? I believe it is because the very first healing (Health) clinic existed in Pergamos and Yeshua could see what it would become, murdering, maiming and destroying people’s live through the power of fear. I hear people speak of their doctor as if he/she is their parent nowadays. How much healthier would we become if we treated our relationship with Yeshua this way?

His shed blood is my only hope. Out of gratitude for His grace I strive to press forward. By His Word and the help of His Spirit I am molded. Zeus or Dias in Greek derives from a word that means sky.On the other hand Satan means the opposer .Satan is the god of this world and the seat of Satan in Pergamum can simply mean demonic headquarter and not necessarily an direct association between the 2 deities

In regards to the context of this passage: Jesus cared. This video is quoting from the letter to the church of Pergamum recorded in the book of Revelation chapter 2. The term "Satan's throne" was something that Jesus used in His exhortation and instruction to the church in Pergamum to describe a power in opposition to God, rather than an actual physical throne. Agreed, let us not get distracted by Satan's limited authority or power and remember that Revelation clearly describes Christ's victory of Satan, sin, and death.
