Thank you so much! being a consumer in this day and age is so overwhelming you help save people money ,time and effort in a age we need in-depth videos on a power adapter just to make sure it wont mess up a $2000 device. Since youve mentioned battery packs. Will you expand your future contents to other types of devices like powerbanks, usb c dongle/dock, 18650 battery and chargers, projectors. 12v appliances common on van life?

Yes, the plan is to expand into more types of content. Specific to van life who knows but if you want to make any suggestions I write them all down. After I get a few on a certain topic it becomes a video.

Thanks! Yes, that 140W adapter is on the list. I don't have an exact timeline, there are 45 power adapters in house in the queue right now.

Hi, I love your content and obsess with latest and greatest in power supply world. I work as a creative and have zero knowledge of how these things work. I have a question while watching multiple review of yours. Do these companies have a know-how to make good and reliable product? It seems like none of them are perfect and how hard is it to make these products efficient the way we hope them to be? Are they all cutting corners or just plain lazy? Thank you. Oh! and I just bought an 100W Anker Nano 😅

Yeah, there is a balance between making the product function and making the product good. They all know how but there is a lot of pressure to build down to a price. Some companies focus a lot on making the adapter small and are willing to sacrifice performance for size. Apple, I think, cares more about the life of the product rather than the energy it directly uses over its lifetime.

I have a couple power banks I am testing right now. I haven’t done these before so I’m far from sure which one is best though. I plan to get a video out later this month on the first one. As of now I’d go for anything with more than 1 usb c port with PD 3.0 capability (15v or 20v output capable).

Could I use this with a HomePod mini and then the other for charging my phone in a kitchen but only using one port? Now I have 2 20w ones using both power spots. I like that it goes straight down instead of out.

Really, anything is good. If you want maximum speed get a 30 watt minimum charger. Apple is obviously going to be compatible with apple devices. Anything larger may gain some advantages but it is at a tradeoff of cost and size.

Yes, this can deliver the 9V/3A to power that charger. I don't think it would do that AND charge a laptop though.

When using a dual port charger, and you’re trying to charge one device, can you leave a 2nd wire in the other port that’s not connected to another device and still get the full charging capabilities? Or does it spilt the charge even without a second actual device plugged in? Thank you so much if you see this and can help me 😭🙏🏻

it is smart and will give you 100% to the device even with both wires plugged in.

I think that is the intention with this charger. Compact and able to charge anything (maybe not the fastest but able).

Apple doesn't advertise which ones are GaN or not, but they use the same basic technology as everyone else. So, there's no difference. Apple also doesn't make these.

These are both on the same level of safe. Each has the same probability of causing damage to your device. In terms of efficiency the Anker is better but the apple with 35W output should charge a little faster.

Asus has made laptop bricks for a long time (or had them made) so it isn't too much of a surprise with more products using USB C now. I will have to check this one out.

I got the Coucot and have a weird issue. It gets stuck at 8 watts, but only one way the cable is turned. If i flip the lightning cable around, i get the 20+ watts. This doesnt happen with my other single 20w chargers, so i dk whats going on. I feel like im getting disconnected with the Coucot also. And i got one iPhone overheating notification, but havent since. I also bought the 2 35w adapters listed on Walmarts site. Its listed with two options. 35w and 50w. Both were 35w. Both were Apple counterfeits. One came with no packaging. Apple print on back. Other in fake Apple box. Returning both. Really want Anker, or Aukey to make a dual slim one like this, in black. Or anyone else.

Hello, yeah, sounds like a non-starter for me. I wouldn't expect those behaviors from the apple official adapter but at three times the price... There are a few two port options on the market right now but I am still reviewing them so no word on which is best.

@@AllThingsOnePlace just ordered the AOHI 40W Fast Charger Adapter 2-Port Type-C charger on Amazon. Has a light to distinguish between different charging speeds. My issue with the Coucot is little disconnects. Hopefully this won’t happen with this. Never heard of AOHI. Refuse to spend $60 on Apples.

Good question. No idea. eBay definitely has issues with this. The Apple has white inserts in the USB C ports, obviously lots of marks on the bottom that are tracible. Check for irregularities like misspelled words and things. Can also compare to the weight in this video.

@@AllThingsOnePlace Thanks. The USB ports are white but it only weighs in at 69grams. Printing on box is good but not quite as sharp as on Apple materials. Printing on back of charger is not as sharp and slightly different sans serif typeface. I would never have noticed if I hadn’t been suspecting a fraud.

I’d probably take the ugreen 100w but the newer version. I think cd328? The apple 35w chargers have issues and are very expensive.

That's entirely software within the phone itself. The power adapter, no USB power adapter, does anything related to that, it just does what the device plugged in tells it to do.

Apple cripples third party devices. I bought Anker's ostensibly identical 20W charger, but it undeniably charged slower than Apple's 20W charger. Assertions that third party equivalents perform identically should be hedged against the likelihood that they won't perform the same as an official Apple device.

I noticed on official apple adapters they tend to push the voltage to the top of the target, so 20v is 20.5v, 5v is 5.25v. Anker tends to ride the opposite way. If apple is doing basic voltage sensing that may be enough to decide to draw less power but who knows, these things are unreasonably complicated at this point. There is a chance Apple flips a few extra bits or sends some other data over the USB cable to say hey I am an official apple charger but I really doubt it since that is a lot of work but it does sound very apple. I noticed the opposite, my 20W apple charger is noticeably slower than my daily driver charger.
