Even if I was someone who flys a lot, I probably could get by with the Shivrs or the taotronics. If I wanted good bluetooth headphones I probably would buy the THX Pandas. I don't see the appeal of this product other than a status and or fashion statement.

These have provens themselves to be the best pair of noise cancelling wireless headphones on the market. And they’re charging for it. Most people are definitely better off with WH-1000XM4s + AirPods Pro for the SAME price, but if you want the best of each category (I think no one could or should argue thatthe AirPods Pro are the best in ear noise cancelling wireless earbuds, sure the XF-1000XM3s are better sounding but their charging case is huge and the AirPods Pro are more comfortable) and if you have the money, these and the AirPods Pro are the ones to get. I wouldn’t be surprised if you think there’s no reason to get ANY Apple product aside from their pretty look, you know because you’re a blind Apple hater, but there is a lot.

I have to agree on all of the sound quality points...the Q30 is very competitive (w/custom EQ) without even considering its incredibly low relative price. Build quality...is very OK and I do not see this as a downside...but it is not to the level of a US$250+ headset. As for ANC/ambient...it performs well and I would guess it is about 75% to the level of Bose, Sony...maybe 70% to that of the Apple Airpods Max. I have owned the Q30 for the past 6 months and find it one of my best audio purchases within the last five years. Perfect for the office, home, air travel, car. Call quality is also very good. Battery life...great. Comfort...for me...excellent. Prefer it over the Q35, which is 2x its price. Why(?)...better sound quality. The improved ANC/ambient and build of the Q35 is not worth the slight reduction in sound quality, for me, and definitely not at 2x the price.

Buy more Apple to get this Apple product to work properly. Great reasons not to buy theeeeese.

I’m no reviewer, but I have headphones and amps and Dacs. I wanted to know how they compare to the rest of my gear. Are they better? No. Are they comparable? To a couple of my headphones, yes. Do they sounds better with Apple gear? Yes. How do they compare to the Pandas wired and unwired? And some features can only work with Apple devices. Zeos had a legit complaint that he couldn’t set them to ANC and Transparency off. Well you can with an iPhone or an iPad or a Mac. And they are excellent for calls, Zoom, etc.

You can’t defeat the DSP. Whatever you plug them into is going to be converted back into digital, go though DSP, then back to analog at the drivers.

NO!! You don’t get this for the sound. MX4 still a far superior headset for the value, other Audiophiles have called Sony the kind of NC still, and sound is good, not great. This NC is on par and sound does not justify the cost. Get the Pandas for less.

I would suggest to wait. Now that Apple has come in and shown that people will still buy Wireless headphones at 600 dollars I am pretty sure Sony and Bose will also finally upgrade

What kind of processing does android do? Cause the dac in the headphones is what what's doing the conversion. AAC sounds like crap on apple too

@@marcrossen5595 It’s in the CoreAudio APIs. On Mac OS and iOS you can send AAC directly to AudioHardwareDevice. If the device is Bluetooth, then the AAC would be sent directly without getting decoded.

Actually it seems to be pretty spotty with iphones aswell. LTT has some issues with that when the did their review using an iphone.

@@utubekullanicisi I was talking about the unboxing on Short Circut. during the unboxing he mentioned that there were issues with it going to sleep. Edit: just watch the proper review and it seems that most of the issues were fixed on i devices but still persist on all others.

They also have apples seamless switching from devices which is sick. Also audio quality improves because Apple encoded aac more accurately than android does. AAC actually sounds better on iOS. It’s just a better implementation of the codec. Although they really should have included ldac too.

@@corbinduncan1272 seamless switching is nothing new, my 3 year old bluetooth earbuds have seamless switching that works with all devices and not just in the apple ecosystem. Also while yes AAC may work better on ios than android, aptX and ldac are better codec's.

Wired is worse than wireless in this case because it gets converted to analog on the phone and then back into digital in the headphones, adds dsp and then coverts it into analog again.

@@FiniteCS theyre great at keeping you tied down to their ecosystem. So most of their customers really don't know much of anything else out there. It's really quite genius. I understand a lot of their customer base though. They're simple minded and apple keeps it so simple with their ui and products that I suggest their brand to old people who want new tech. Im not not necessarily anti-apple. I also love their privacy and security. I mean, shit. They told the government to go fuck themselves a few times. A rare sight these days

They have great privacy and security features, their UI is always nice looking, even if it's almost impossible to customize legally, and it's definitely great for old people/people who're are technologically inept (pretty much everyone I know who has no idea what the difference between a CPU, GPU, and PSU are owns an iPhone). I only really became anti-Apple after Steve Jobs died and with the release of the iPhone 5 because that's when I started seeing a really bad trend starting. I wouldn't be surprised if it started before then, but that's when I made sure to keep myself as far as possible from Apple devices. I honestly wouldn't be so anti-Apple if not for the fact that they keep people tied down to their ecosystem, because that's what causes the most issues. Dumb prices, poor shaming, toxicity on both sides (that usually starts from Apple fanboys, but can definitely be started by people like me), and just so much negativity for no reason at all. It's almost as bad as when someone tries to fight someone just for having a different opinion when, at the end of the day, they won't even remember the fight or the opinions. Only reason why I try to tell people to stay away from Apple is because I'm worried they'll join the hivemind, sheeple, and whatever other derogatory terms for the Apple fanboys there are. I don't mind if someone owns something from somewhere that may or may not be overpriced or pretty useless, but just don't make that purchase a lifestyle or turn it into something malicious. And even though I'm also anti-EGS (Epic Games), I'm rooting for them in their fight against Apple since maybe, just maybe, it can spark a change for Apple as a company to become better... well, it'll at least help hurt Apple's reputation since companies like them and Nintendo are riding too high on their horses for what shit they do.
