i’ve watched you’re video to install this thank you very much, also question i have is that in my seat the quality of the screen looks kind of rubbish now that i’m using the apple car play, would there be a way to fix this, like the quality doesn’t look HD i was wondering if it’s the same with you

Hi there, thanks for watching! Yes I noticed the same, unfortunately that's just the way the 5.8" screen is, it's quite a low resolution screen. I don't think you can really fix that without retrofitting a MIB2 system.

Great video 😊, got a 2015 fr wanted to try this, just had a quick question do the parking sensors still engage both in reverse and normally when the car play is running?

Thank you! :) The front and rear parking sensors still work automatically, and the display still shows the Park Pilot view, however it only shows it on the screen while in reverse. Hope this helps!

Great video - thanks man. Quick question - if I opt to use an aux cable, does my phone need to be connected to it via the cable for audio to work? Or is it just to bring up the option and will it work through bluetooth

Thanks for watching! Not sure I understand your question to be honest but I'll try and answer it: If you opt to use "aux" as the input in Media then the Bluetooth audio won't work unless you switch back to Bluetooth as the input in Media. However, if you prefer, you can use the option called "use the original Bluetooth audio" in the settings of the device which will allow all audio to be streamed by Bluetooth from your phone instead of using the Aux input option.

Just installed it mate spot on with the video and used the forms just to see fully how to remove the glovebox just wondering did you manage to keep the different driving modes visible in CarPlay aswell as parking sensors?

The parking sensor view does work with the CarPlay engaged, but sadly the driving modes don't, which is annoying. You either just need to exit it by holding the "Car" button, or do what I do and press the Cupra button multiple times and memorise which option is which. Thanks so much for watching :)

Hey mate did you ever use the usb port on the box itself and do you know what its supposed to connect to is this for wired carplay/android auto? Also does the steering wheel functions still work after installation? Thanks

Yes I’ve tried the USB port and it allows wired CarPlay / Android Auto. The steering wheel controls do work for skipping songs etc. Thanks for watching!😊

@@samsunghandy No, the steering wheel controls do work with wireless and wired. :) I haven't found a way to pause and play the songs via the wheel yet, but you can skip songs.

Do the maps work well on apple carplay as my last CarPlay enabled aftermarket radio did a weird screen sharing thing and you couldn’t use it with your phone locked

The maps work perfectly, just like CarPlay should! Had no problems at all with the maps, and works just like the CarPlay fitted from factory on newer VAG cars. 😊 thanks for watching!

Very interesting. My mk3 2013 seat Leon doesn’t have a head unit in glovebox, instead it has memory card slot and cd built into dash oem screen unit. Any idea if this will still work ?

Thanks for watching! :) Sounds like you've got a MIB 1 "low" which, as you say, doesn't have the unit in the glovebox. Sadly it does need to have the unit in the glovebox. :( MIB 1 "Standard" and "High" should work though.

Does this module interfere with the car's Bluetooth? If I receive calls, does it go through CarPlay or the car's Bluetooth? thanks

Hi! You can still receive calls normally via Bluetooth, but you can also disconnect the bluetooth entirely and have the call go through the CarPlay completely. You have the option. :) Personally, I disconnect the bluetooth because I found that sometime the media input option would mess up if I used bluetooth and CarPlay at the same time.

Hi, thanks for the video. I have a leon fr 2016. I notice it only has 1 sd card slot, it also says yo take it to the dealer to activate the carplay. Do you think this will work on a one sd card variant ?

Sounds like you have a MIB2 system with presumably the 6.5" screen? In which case you already have CarPlay built in, you just need to activate it. Search online for "activate full link leon mk3" and there is loads of info, some people say it can be done for free.

@@WheelzonWheels I looked up the version, since it's a non nav version something has to be attached to it to get it working. And unfortunately in Ireland it costs over 300€. Does the device you bought bypass this ?

@@MrOConnor Oh right, sorry to hear that. Yes the device in this video does bypass that, and the installation will be similar but the dip switches will be in a slightly different position than I showed because your screen is different. Let us know how you get on! :)
