This week’s video is packed full of easy and delicious meals and I try my hand at some baking. You’ll see our old favorite crockpot pinto beans and cornbread, I make some tuna salad, then I will fry up some old fashioned salmon patties, and I will share a tasty and easy crockpot ranch pork chop meal with some yummy roasted skillet corn I had to have after seeing my friend Katt ‪@Southernfarmandkitchen‬ frying some up. Then I got a wild hair and decided to make some apple cider donuts and I have to say they were delicious! Mel, your donuts look great! We make fried corn but start with a couple slices of bacon cut into bite size pieces, add chopped onion and green pepper and cut fresh corn off the cob, salt and pepper to taste. Love all your videos!

Sue here: Everything so perfect! Your voice, meals, quiet music (thank you ) apple cider donuts!!! Mel - yes, nothing beats a simple tuna salad sandwich. I make it like you do. I use the wild caught canned Red Alaskan salmon for salmon patties and use the liquid they come in as flavorful moisture. My hubby loves hm tartar sauce on his and I have to have lots of fresh lemon juice on mine and in the recipe too. It's a favorite supper of ours. I serve it with fresh peas and a warm mayo potato salad. (Spiced French fries work well too.) Loved your apple cider donut demo. I could taste how delicious they were, for sure. 🍏🍎🍏

I’m a very simple cook as well. I mostly use salt and pepper. I’m not much on onion or garlic powder. I use Miracle whip salad dressing for my tuna, potato salad, egg salad etc. But I love Hellmann’s for cooking, making beer cheese and pimento cheese. Everything you fix looks so simple and delicious. I’m starving by the time I finish your video 😊. You’re such a treat to watch. 🙏🏻🇺🇸♥️

What great Southern comfort food! I love salmon patties, too! I make tuna salad all the time! I have the same exact little white drainer and I can’t make my tuna salad without it! I do put boiled eggs in mine. Have you ever tried that? It’s really good!! Thanks for the video!🥰

I've been making salmon patties since the kids were little, we all love them. I season them very differently tho, I use breadcrumbs, egg, onions, parsley, garlic, lemon zest, Old Bay and if I have time, I bread the patties on the outside. Happy cooking 🍷 note: canned salmon can be salty so taste it first before adding salt😉

I cook pintos in crockpot with water, chicken bouillon cubes and dried minced onion, cook til soup is thick and rich! Simple but so good!!!

Hubby and I went to a apple cider mill and picked pumpkins and got some fall goodies. 😁 Eventhough the weather was yucky I was happy and thankful to have time with my hubby after all this time. It was nice getting out and having a date day out. Especialy after 2 years of being shut in and not doing our dates like we had been. Made me very happy and excited. Than we came home and made dinner and now relaxing.

Mel, You always have the best recipes! I was so captivated by all of the things you were making! The salmon patties really looked amazing!!! The tuna sandwich as well. And they said you could turn it the other way to strain a can of vegetables. Those donuts do look so pretty (and tasty)! Everything looks delicious, especially that skillet corn and the ranch pork chops! I'm not a big mustard or pickle/relish fan, so for my tuna salad I usually just do mayo, onion, and celery.

Eggs are also good in tuna.....i make egg salad with your same ingredients as tuna salad minus the mustard....i make a latge batch then a few days later i will add a can of tuna. And have tuna salad sandwiches on toast ..yum

Ohhhh friend Mel, I have been struggling with my crohns. I'm having the hardest time getting hungry or eating. Watched this video this afternoon and everything single thing looked delicious. Can't wait to get up and around and make some of these recipes, the donuts especially. 😊👍 I think my hubby is looking forward to it too. Your videos are entertaining and calming. So sorry to hear that you've been down with a flare up, I know this just makes you feel so miserable. I am glad that you enjoyed this video while resting up and getting your strength back. I hope that you recover and get back up and at it again real soon. I could go for some of these donuts right now too LOL They were SO good and I just can't believe that I make them. Thank you Cindy, most all my food is easy. I shown what I really make, and my experience is that if something sounds complicated or has too many ingredients, I will end up not making it. Yum. Favorite way to make chops and corn! Pretty sure your can strainer is Pampered Chef (I've had mine just like it since early nineties!) If you flip it over it just fits regular sized cans of veggies and fruit. 😉 Love your channel!

Melanie everything looks so yummy 😋. You always cook the best comfort meals. My husband would love the salmon patties and I would absolutely love the donuts lol my sweet tooth wanted some of those so bad 😁. I think you always do a great job whether you cook or bake but I definitely understand about too many steps in a recipe. I will make recipes with many steps but I have to be in the right frame of mind to do it 😂 it just might take me several days to work myself up to it lol. Have a blessed week.

Funny thing, I’m watching this video while I’m cooking supper. I’ve had my boneless pork chops in the crock pot today. Lol. I make them that way a lot, but tonight they have been cooking in Allegro marinade. It is made over here in Paris, TN and is so good! I have never made donuts at home either, but your apple cider ones look delicious! And now you have me wanting salmon patties. I haven’t made them in a long time. My daddy told me about the boneless, skinless cans of salmon a few years ago. They are sometimes hard to find around here, but that is all I will use too. I enjoyed your video and hope you have a wonderful week!

Jen I've never heard of that allegro marinade, but if it's made here in TN I know it must be good 👍The skinless, boneless salmon had changed my life 🤣, it was so good but kinda pricey, too. Hello Mel everything looks so yummy. You can make hot cereal with the rest of the cornmeal so good i add milk ,sugar ,a pinch of salt, a little sprinkle of cinnamon,vanilla and a little pat of butter add everything cold once on stove keep stirring because it can get lumpy . when done sprinkle cinnamon on top when served so good.
