I was looking for some videos about it recently! I had no idea about the audio edit in resolve and the trick of recording on the bed, I will try it. I think it could be better if you would explain a bit more about the audio editing but thanks for this video because it's exactly what I needed to know before I buy an external mic! btw there is an ai audio software that can improve your VoiceOver files (adobe podcast)

Not sure if you mean for improving scripts or audio. For scripts you could use chatGPT, for audio I would recommend practicing speaking loads and loads with online scripts. Then just tweak it a little in your edit software.

ok so i figured this out too!! i just started doing it b/c my previous mic died. then i just started doing it for my videos and no one complained. i will either do my voiceover on my bed or in the closet. the closet gives the best sound

I'm kind of jealous of the inbuilt microphone on the macbook PC. Just by listening to your voice sample, I have decided to acquire one of those macbook for my studio production. I'm a radio broadcast producer and, I do all of my productions at home. The macbook may be expensive though, but I must get one for my home studio. Thanks for the video.

Definitely not just you. I just recorded a quick song where I used my acoustic guitar and voice and then hooked up the macbook to my cars Bluetooth and the sound that came out of the speakers was hardly any different than when I listen to songs on YT in my car! I was pretty blown away and also quite happy!

Nice one - you breezed by those couple tips on adding some processes to the audio clip in resolve. I'm currently a Premiere user.. I'll have to dig through your videos and see if you have any tips in that area (trying to move from only cinematographer to creating my own fully realized stories).

Hey, most of the sound comes from mic technique and vocal tone. The I’ll add a bit of compression and maybe a noise gate (which has now been replaced by voice isolation for me) Focus on getting the audio as close as possible without processing then add a bit of compression.

I'm definitely going to try it out; I had the opportunity to use my brother-in-law's mic and scarlet for the first episode of the series I'm working on The Wanderbird Chronicles, now once I hit the seas again, now only have my laptop and limited space so this seems perfect. I just got the M3 pro and I’m really enjoying this feature! I think it’s a great microphone especially for myself since I’m just getting started with my KZfaq and I can always get a better microphone later down the road. Even the microphone on the iPhone 15 Pro is great as well for when I do editing there!

So I’m also a new musician and I bought a MacBook Air M2 to use with my Boss Katana 100 MKII amp. I would also like to record our band practice with it… I just need something simple (USB-C/XLR mic) that let’s me record our band practice. I’m looking into a budget mic (maybe $60) or so that has USB-C and XLR if possible. Doesn’t have to be amazing just better than my iPhone voice memo app I’ve been using. Any mic suggestions for the MacBook Air M2?

I recently upgraded to an M1 Mac for work. Previously, I used an AKG USB mic with my Intel-based Mac, because the built-in mic just wasn’t good enough for my tastes. After the upgrade, I asked people during a meeting which sounded better, the AKG or the new built-in mic, they all said the built-in one sounded better! The AKG now sits on a shelf. 😂

My M1 Pro is basically silent. The only time mine makes any noise is playing games, even then it’s so quiet compared to my Razor Blade.

I am very impressed about the capabilities of a MacBook Pro. Last year I bought an entry model MacBook Air M1 2021 to just test how good a MacBook really is. As a music producer, I can safely say that in a couple of years I will get a MacBook Pro for sure.

Hi, this is davinci resolve. It's free so you should be able to download an older version of the software, hope that helps.

Right now the only way I can record my guitar and bass is with the GarageBand app on my iPhone. How I do this is by plugging my ear buds with the small mic on them into my iphone and try to get that little mic close to my amp as possible in hopes that guitar track turns out good. Trying to play guitar while keeping at least one ear bud in while keeping the mic as close to my amp as possible, sucks. There has to be an easier way to record, cause the way Im recording my music, is there a mic I could plug into my iphone that would be long enough to reach my amp speaker and still be able to hear my music as im laying down my guitar or bass track? I'd use garageband on my macbook air but its a 2015 macbook air with no garageband app cause its too old. So I guess what Im trying to say is I wish there was another app like GarageBand that has all the same plugins(virtual drums, smart drums, virtual bass, piano) that I could use with my iphone. Can anybody help me out with this?

I have tried this over and over again with a mic without a mic and for some reason it's not working...I have an M1, i've patched the audio, the equalizer is not showing up tho so what does this say? Does anyone have any idea what i'm doing wrong?

So I have this Soundcore Q30 I use for google meet and outbound calls and they would complain that I’m cutting on and off and getting a lot of static and that they don’t hear me well. But when I don’t use the headset and just make calls using my MacBook Pro, I don’t get complaints at all. I’m just worried about the background noise though because I get comments about my cats and dogs and the neighbors roosters.

I think that part comes down to the noise cancelling software in the call provider. While gaming I just use the onboard mic now.

I think it’s in the left speaker at the back (could be both sides) BUT honestly it sounds better right in the middle.

The macbook pro M3pro has 3 dynamic mics (vs 2 for the macbook/air). Im trying to find out if the Macbook Pro M1 has the same 3 mics, or if that was an upgrade in the M3Pro. Anyone? If Im giong to spend $2000-$2500 on a new laptop to replace my old 2012 MBP with CS4 suite included, i may need to avoid buying a rode mic for a bit until I bring in some more dollaros

I think that was an upgrade for the M3pro series over the M1. At least I logged that info into my brain when considering getting an M1Max over the M3Pro... currently trying to find an M3Pro 15" with 1TB ssd. Apple is sold out unless you upgrade to the m3max

2:40 I don't get this close to my laptop when I am recording my training videos for hours. Also, brags about how amazing the built-in microphone is and goes performs dozens of adjustments after 2:52. I have Macbook Pro M2 and my Blue Yeti from years ago - still is the best, no post adjustments or anything. Buit-in mic is OK but not for online professional recordings, you still need an external mic for that.
