That's literally everything today... cookouts, 4th of July gatherings, concerts, sports games. People these days just can't seem to celebrate or get together in groups with getting wasted, loud and obnoxious. The biggest lie ever told is- "society isn't getting worse, you just hear about it more."

@petergriffin383 I agree with most of what you say until the end. Plenty of people have been murdered, just like the young man represented in this trial. I'm 50 and grew up next to a lake in Texas, and I remember this stuff going on as a child. People have been killing people since the dawn of time in horrendous ways.

But think the more I watch I realize, they all were drunk as hell. All saying they had one drink, one or two shots, let’s be realistic. It was a party out there, everyone’s going tubing and hanging out, everyone’s DRUNK and basking in the sun which makes them drunker faster. Then throw in the weed that some people don’t remember smoking and others had just a few puffs or “a little bit”. It’s sad all around but the shit memory makes a lot of sense. If it seems like he over rules the defense a lot on cross it's not because of bias, it's because during cross there's more leeway given during as far leading, and other formalities, the defense is well aware of this rule so the common strategy is to object as much as possible without looking bad to the jury, they're also aware many of their objections will be overruled during this time, but the strategy is to do it anyway...but again, not in a way not that will put off the jury. Everyone aged 36 and younger know full well what that kid was doing- I'm pretty sure many of us engaged in that behavior (we used to call it trolling in my day) when we would intentionally repeat an inflammatory remark as if that's what we heard- this is to get a rise out of someone or to mildly make them uncomfortable or embarrassed. Someone had already broke up the physical altercation before he decided to start stabbing people. I’m all for self defense but in now way did it appear to be a life or death situation for the old guy. He was clearly impaired (as were almost all of them) and was not thinking correctly. Unfortunate for him, he seems the most innocent of the bunch. Had the right intentions. AJ however I don’t believe ever had good intentions, he wasn’t trying to deescalate, first just involved himself bc of the chaos, but then to get the man down and to hopefully stay down. This one didn’t even touch him with any intention to hurt him, he was just locked in defense mode already and stabbed him. It's the way that the defendant held the knife the entire time that is disturbing for me. WHAT NORMAL HUMAN HOLDS A KNIFE SHARP SIDE UP THE ENTIRE TIME?? He also stabs at least 3 people in the heart/lung area under the left arm. Thats a pretty strategic place to stab a person one time...but 3 times?? Where does a normal guy learn these things?? I thought about that too... in that pose one can do much harm to others... maybe he did marshal arts at one time... the whole incident is very tradgic and devastating... even if he was angry at thd teens and the women and was scared of many people sourrounding him, he could have acted differntly and try to deescalate himself... he seemed to let his rage out on these people he stabed and want revenge maybe mixed with anxiety? Hard to tell what was in the mans mind at the time... do we know if he was intoxicated aswell... Sadly so many involved had been intoxicated.... But what this man did... to me it was not only selfdefence.... he showed no remorse right after the incident, he tried to mislead the police by asking them questions as if he was not involved, he did nothing to help the victims , he did not call 911, he through the weapon away .. to me he was acting in parts like someone who amok runs... a lot happend in this incident... lam so sorry for that boy who lost his life and for the orhers who got injured so serverly... lam glad they all survived... and even if they made mistakes too... BUT nothing gives that man the right to murder and injure these people to that extend.... to me he is guilty... he did the most harm to others... But sadly all had some part to it and it escaleted even if for some the intention was to deescalate.... l would not really want to be in that jury... that is not so easey to rule on...

Sad situation, jury will decide this man's fate but with those teens doing all the shouting and yelling slurs should have to at least go out and speak to groups as to what can happen with this kind of behavior for clicks, likes, recognition, money maybe. It looked like he had a flashback of working at a prison camp or something. The look in his eyes and they way his posture was looked like a deranged lunatic. He definitely wasn't in fear. He was trying to teach these kids a lesson. He's definitely going to prison for most likely the rest of his life. There no way he reached in his pocket and got the knife out that quick. Listen to your word. Within his reach. That knife was small as hell if he cut you. You where to close. Esp being aggressive. What? should he have just stood there while kids are screaming cussing and not interested in what was even happening. They hear looking at little girls. And went in. Which supports the point of these kids screaming to a huge group of ppl that someone doing nothing was touching kids. And the very danger that passed to this older man. Which was a lie. You know like I do. Child abuse cause Blind rage in ppl. This was a mob of misunderstanding. What to blame someone. Blame the kid with the camera.

The more I watch of this trial the more I sympathize with Mr. Miu. He's surrounded by a bunch of drunks who are getting in his face and assaulting him. If I were being assaulted by an angry mob and feared further injury and possibly drowning by these drunks, I'd lash out by any means to get them to back off. There was no point that the mob was to be reasoned with and, in fact, they just became more enraged as the moments passed.

I do not think anyone saw this girl get punched - I think they all just heard it said by the same kid that called the old man a pedo, a rapist, said he told them he was looking for little girls…and then said that he hit the girl. Don’t think that ever happened most everything else you see on tape - but not that claimed hit. LOTS of these kids with SERIOUS accusations, harassment, yelling and bossing, in his face, in a mob frenzy, punching/pushing sometimes more than one a time - all surrounding him… self defense

It’s demonstrating that it wasn’t an emergency enough to set the beer down, they just wanted to come over and interlope in the melee. Sad that you can’t figure that out.

The stills tell the story…murder for sure………the first kid stabbed, look at his hands right before he is stabbed….they are open and palms out…people do that when they are saying “easy, whoa, wait, hold on….” Not attacking…..the old dude aggressively stabs him…….then the next few frames, as he gets out of the water he is moving aggressively towards them, when you can clearly see behind him is open, and a girl standing their with her back to the entire event. Tell me WHO acts aggressively and charges when you are 1 vs possibly 11 other people? No one…….you retreat immediately!!! You cannot hit, slap, or attack others when you are out numbered, with only a knife….and say it was “self defense”……no one else was armed…and he smacked the girl which ignited the entire event…..guilty has hell…….
