I have watched the video multiple times, my opinion doesn’t matter on who’s guilty or who’s not. What does matter is I showed my 18 year old son the video, who looks a bit like the young man that passed, because I wanted him to see how a situation could turn out. I felt it was very important for him to see it. My suggestion is some of you do the same, maybe things like this wouldn’t happen as often. It saddens me that young man passed away over this.

@@google_is_a_criminal That attorney likes to mince words and play around with context. How you "approach" someone definitely has a correlation on how you'll be received. The fact that Mui was charging or running at those people was not an opinion. However this attorney wants to negate or totally erase context and simply call it "approaching" someone. He does this all throughout his cross examinations so much that even the judge was getting impatient. Oh it was blatantly obvious dad was out to have a good birthday with his kids🎉 Had he been alert and treated the situation as he would in his bar, I'd imagine he'd do what he did. Send his boys/men over to bounce, go in strong and quickly and deescalate. Water and tubes made for a slippery wreck of a bouncing job. The old man meant well. To chill out the drinking teens from a man. Problem is that the man made a decision to pull a knife and use it... In excess 😢 it was war for him. Intent to kill. It took a bit for people to realize he wasn't just throwing fists like a drunk bar fight, he had a small knife in his fist. The shock alone of the escalation to blood bath yeah Dad shoulda gone silent, lots of shoulda dones for lots of people. I've witnessed a fatal car crash, no one was partying. We as spectators did what was needed. I sat with the driver that lost a best friend instantly. .. I knew he was in shock and I told him this was not your fault, there was nothing you could do at the road speed just feet away from the intersection when the light turned yellow. That day a man chose to turn in front of them, hesitated, then gunned it, damage done. I'm so grateful to have had my head in a good place to be extremely aware of every unfolding detail visible. We can take away so many lessons from these types of experiences. I knew my statement and as for the news, on my terms I'd give them a statement under my conditions. So far, on the stand, every single one of these young adults, and teens, and prosecutorial witnesses, have identical cases of 100% memory loss as to what they, and their friends did that day. Yet incredibly, every single one of them are able to clearly recall exactly what the man did, and why they were attacking him. Their acquired severe, and selective memory losses all manifested identically, and left them each with the exact same few memories. That’s absolutely remarkable, and should be one for the case books. Furthermore, two years ago, right after it happened, no one of reported the man saying something inappropriate about little girls, or he that he punched a girl. Yet again, they’ve all recently regained the exact same two terrible memories to explain they were attacking the man because they “were so scared of him”. If they continue to not remember literally anything they, or their friends did to that man, this is going to end up a mistrial.

Like most of us, Mr. Carlson puts too much faith in his ability to discern people's state-of-mind at a glance. The only people who were proved to have high blood-alcohol levels were the ones who were stabbed. Its a shame the women in his group didn't have the de-escalation skills he says his sons have; this whole predicament would have been avoided.

Having high levels of alcohol in your blood does not make you a candidate for being assaulted, disembowelled or killed. It's amazing how all the people that comment about people drinking alcohol all of a sudden become judge and jury. Following such trauma to the abdomen, it will be left opened at the surface, internal stitching will be utilized. The abdomen will swell so much you can’t bring the skin together &/or the surgeons will need to go back in to do further exploration. With these wounds the healing is done from the inside to outside and takes weeks. As a nurse I’ve taken care of patients with this. I do not find the man guilty I do think it was self-defense. That’s my feelings. But I do think some other charges need to be brought on to some of the people that decided to violately hit this man. the defense is focusing on which hand he hit her with because they are trying to assert that he never actually hit her. some of the witnesses said he hit her with his right hand, and some said he hit her with an open hand. in the video, he's already holding the knife in his right hand by the time the punch took place (the punch was not caught on camera), so theyre trying to say that it isnt possible for the punch to have taken place. the defense is trying to prove that the boys lied about him hitting a woman in order to incite a violent mob to attack him. defense attorneys are supposed to be zealous advocates. so while these nit-picky, disingenuous arguments might seem annoying to onlookers, they are just doing their job. society needs them, they serve an important function.

@@Yahweh42069 well, if thats your opinion then i guess the defense is doing a good job. i dont personally believe that to be the case. these two groups didnt even know each other. its very far fetched that the boys would yell that 'he hit a girl,' and that the girl in question would then decide in the moment to pretend she had been hit when she didnt even know them. the level of collusion required doesnt make sense given that these people had never met before. but youre entitled to your interpretation of the evidence. as far as how "obvious" it is, mileage may vary.

I believe the truth the videos tell me, but I have seen all these online people without doing any truth research but directly leave the unfair comments about this poor man shocked me even more: is it acceptable for people to insult an old man just because they are young ? Doesn’t a person who is worried that his life is in danger have no right to protect himself? How far will this society go to tolerate these young people who have no respect for others? This is a real social tragedy that is completely avoidable if their parents will educate them to respect others

All those on here emphasizing old man vs kids need to get out more. This trial has nothing to do with age. The young ppl were absolutely bold and disrespectful towards the defendant and had they had better training would never have gotten in his face nor taunted him. Sad that ppl were stabbed and hope young ppl learn not to make assumptions or bully others. They assumed they could take the old man but had a deadly awakening

Who claims self defense then chooses to hide the weapon then leaves the scene fully knowing he had to stab multiple people to defend himself. Even better he then lies to the police about what happened claiming the teenagers had knifes and he then with his kung-fu skills took a knife away from one of the teens to defend himself, he lied to the police make the claim of self defense, who does that but someone who is guilty.
