Unless otherwise noted, I use the following recipes at 5% superfat. Cold Process has a 10% water discount and hot process has full water and sodium lactate.
Cold Process Recipe: Hot Process Recipe:
33 % coconut 33% coconut
33% palm 26.7% Lard
8% rice bran 6.3% Palm
8% apricot kernel 8% Rice Bran
15% olive 8% Apricot Kernel
3% castor 15% Olive
3% Castor

Hi, Phil. Cold process creates its own heat during the chemical reaction that turns it to soap. It's called cold process because no external heat is used. Hot process uses external heat (the crockpot) to speed the process up from about 24 hours for CP down to about 1/2 hr for HP.
