Granted Muta, there is normally an overhead when using virtual machines, thats why most people say "but its slower to do it on a VM" the thing is, this is not your average VM, this is a man drunk with power.

@leipero hence why this is not an average VM. KVM are really interesting, sadly they are a pain to do, considering any ports, PCIE and such you pass to it are unavailable for the host without shenanigans, so you end up having to plan it properly so you have enough lanes and ports for it. Bisexual billy is high maintenance.

@leipero turns out having an amd apu or intel HD graphics can come in handy, unless you really need horse power for the host machine tho. I thought about doing it but I have a r5 1600, and the gpu is a thicc boy that covers the other slot. Also what about peripherals?, besides the GPU you also need to assign specific ports for the VMs right? and I do remember reading about SR-IOV, dunno if it was on a thread talking how it is possible to do on at least nvidia gpus but of course buy pro for that. or maybe they were talking about how nvidia doesnt like you using KVMs with theyr hardware.

@leipero yeah when I looked through it to see if I could do it what was stopping me was that I didnt not have a GPU for the host. Even thought about using a pci extender or something for it but my case is "oldish". Did some searches now and apparently as of now indeed the RTX 3000 series are capable, nvidia did even a little screw up saying they supported it, they retracted it later, here is hoping rdn2 has it kek. Most likely not, considering its not something the mainstream consumers use

Linux is free, you just need to install it. VMs actually don't need that much power, using the same hardware as now will get you almost the same results It also only took me around 2 weeks to get good with Linux, you can do it in at least 4 :*

Linux and VM are both free. you might have a hard time understanding linux a bit. I’d recommend using Linux Mint since it’s one of the easiest linux distribution to use (assuming you’re a windows user)
