The statement has a lot of meaning to him since Nipsey came up with it and had asked Mustard to name an album that. He said in an interview he didn’t wear it intentionally and honestly the thought never crossed his mind. He just wanted to wear stuff that was special to him.

People brought up that Whitney was wearing a "wife beater" tanktop which I do think was a legitimate coincidence. If you google her name she seems to wear a lot of tank tops and it's a very west coast kind of style she was rocking. I think that theory is a huge reach tbh but I could be wrong. 🤷♂

The product sold - either black culture bc all white containers & all black people dancing inside. Or/and humans. Kendrick is of course very very intentional & meticulous. The video was a trial of Aubrey & his atrocities against hip hop . Started outside the Compton courthouse & inside there where 11 jurors (clown dancers) + Kendrick = 12 Jurors Ending the video an owl in a cage locked up. The cage bird sings. Not only was Aubrey found guilty we only want him to sing moving forward.

I hope ya'll see this post. If Kendrick drops in August. For people that don't know in California and the California penal system it's call Black August. In 1970 a bay area court was raided by the BPP. Jonathan Jackson and several others were killed if George Jackson wasn't freed. Angela Davis was involved. Kendrick is culture and that month means something. If this album drops bring this comment up. Peace and Blessings

Kendrick himself has said there have been fans that specualte things right on the money (to his shock) some that over reach and add new bigger meanings than he had even anticipated. Not trying to discredit him by any means as he truly proved to the world he is an artistic genius but having said that, there are sometimes some things that are not 100% planned as deep as some speculate. Personally ithink thats powerful in itself others can gleam so much and thus make his art bigger than himself. Its as this whole conversation has been the culture IS a part of Kendrick and he it.

It escalated not because Drake is a big star. It escalated because Drake’s ego couldn’t handle KDot’s greatness, he didn’t understand the bars and he acted like a child and a bully, egging KDot on to drop drop drop. If he hadn’t done that it might have been a case of “Ether” which dropped 3-4 months after “Takeover”. We might’ve had to wait for the album to get a response (potentially to August 8th)

As a Drake fan, Not Like Us may be the nail in the coffin to an era that has already been in decline. It seems that many of Drake’s professional relationships appear to have soured for one reason or another. Also, the quality of his music and the maturity of the subject matter haven’t evolved much in the last 5 years. 2009 - 2024 is a respectable run, and Drake deserves flowers for all of the hits in his discography but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him on The Masked Singer in another year or two.

Yo, I was at Jhene Aiko's concert in south florida (it was great) and lemmie tell ya'll...the DJ put Not Like Us on and one of the loudest moments of the night was when it got to A MINORRRR. It was a roar. Keep in mind, that was Drake's core audience: under 30 girls and women. They were ONE in their singing of Not Like Us. That man is losing his core audience, and fast. Nevah have I evah seen someone as cooked as Drake is right now. His lyrics aged like milk and his whole brand smells funny.

I had to change my view. I think Kendrick definitely wasn't gonna drop so soon but then he decided to go at Drake and he planned that all out before even dropping Like That with Future and Metro. He obviously planned the beef out so that must mean he planned the aftermath. And any smart artist would know to use this momentum to release new music. He isn't a normal artist which is why I thought he wouldn't. But.... That video makes me think otherwise
