I pick my eyelashes too! I have anxiety and ocd that’s why I pick my lashes, it helps me calm down idk why🤔

I've had Trich since I was 9 years old. I'm now 21 and have never had visible lashes ever since. I wish this video was around when I was in high school. This would have changed my life. Thank you sincerely for sharing, I'm certain it will really help someone who is struggling as I did.

I've had Trichotillomania since I was around 12 years old. 25 now and only those who have this problem know the insecurities that come along with it. I pick at my eyelashes and eyebrows. it messes with your self esteem and people on the outside may not understand because you know the struggles you face. I want to learn to put on false lashes. I think it will be helpful.

I'm not sure if I have trich but I pull my lashes out whenever my lash line feels irritated and it leaves me with very few lashes so thank you for sharing your tips!

I also have trich and mainly focus on my eyelashes, totally bald top and bottom, and my public hair. I did have no eyebrows for so so many years, however, weirdly, I got really sick a few weeks back and wasn't able to get out of bed let alone pull or pluck. Once I got better, I went straight for my eyelashes and pubic hair however I had no compulsion to go for my eyebrows. My brows are very sparse and grow in weird places from years of completely plucking them, but they are there, and of course I still use eyebrow pencils etc, but it's a huge progress for me! I don't expect it to last, but for the time being I'm really happy. As for my lids, I will literally dig and dig with tweezers to even get lashes that haven't yet come from under the skin. I used to use false eyelashes everyday, and while I still do sometimes, I'm a mum now so I just do my eyeliner and brows and hope nobody looks at my eyes too close up when I'm out and about lol! As for applying the lashes, I like to cut my lashes to my preferred length, they always come to long in the box for me. Then I taper the length of the actual lashes slightly towards the inner eye with clean nail scissors (like eyelash layers) because the feeling of lashes poking my face makes me want to rip my face off, eek! I curl the lashes well before I apply the glue with my lash curlers, then apply the glue. As I'm waiting for it to go tacky, I roll them back and forth in a sort of horseshoe shape to encourage a natural curve to the strip, then apply. For me, I can't use any instruments to apply, I just don't get on with it, but once I have them in place I lightly tough the strip against my bald lid with the handle end of a small eyeshadow brush or something, just to ensure good adhesion. You are absolutely right when you say we need plenty of glue, because we have nothing to stick it to except for just skink whereas normally they are designed to stick to skin and also the natural lashes too. This video was great, and I'm going to give the little tool thingy you used another go, as perhaps I didn't give myself enough time to get used to it before telling myself it was rubbish. Thanks so much for spreading positivity, and I loved the way you were in the video, like it was just a normal makeup tutorial instead of focusing on the doom and gloom of trich. Your positive attitude was worth its weight in gold and is a reminder to people like yourself and me that it's not weird, there are others out there, and you can have trich and still wear a smile and look lovely xxxx

I have trich. I pull my eyebrows and eyelashes. A couple of months I just got tired of picking my eyebrows looking and feeling weired so i stop with the eyebrows but still do the eyelashes. I dont pick the bottoms eyelash that much than the top ones. It does make me upset after i did it because i try so hard growing them back but when i get stressed, depressed and nervious I pick them off again then realize growing them out was a waste of time. I use castor oil to grow them back and mascara that has growth oil in it. I always wash off makeup and on my days off I don't wear makeup at all even if I'm going to the store. When i seen you put false lashes it looks great and real. Thumbs up.

I don't have Trich, I was just born with no eyelashes. I have gone my whole life without them and rarely use false ones due to not being able to apply them well or get them to stay. I appreciate the video and I am going to try it. Love your voice and accent.

I’ve been trying really hard to stop, and for a second I was doing well but I always end up ripping them out!! I have wanted to do fake eyelashes for awhile - but every time I go to people say I need real lashes to do it. I’m glad to see there is a way I can enjoy my eyes and maybe help myself not pick!

The problem that I have when I try to put on fake eyelashes is that they will droop down because I have no eyelashes of my own to support them (which I'm assuming is the same problem everyone with trich has). So just to make sure, are you sticking the lashes exactly at the level where natural lashes grow? Do you put glue a little bit above the base of the lashes so they will stick to the eyelid and not droop?

this is the 1st time ive heard of this disorder,i was also very stress teenager being a ward of the state & knowing my parents didnt want me hurt me a lot but i used to chew my mouth to pieces which would cause large ulcers on my lips,I cant relate 2 why this stress would make u pull eyelashes out,instead of working ways out to cover the damage have u ever tried meditation,yoga to help with stress,because im not joking when u get older,& u have wrinkles,hair loss no eyebrows,and no lashes its gunna hurt,Maybe try putting an elastic band around your wrist & keep pulling at it,your mind is a powerful weapon if u can train your brain to pull on the band,u might be able to stop thinking that this pulling eyelashes is what i do when stressed,whilst including meditation,Good Luck

I saw your video the first time months ago. Today I saw an advert on Facebook, they were using a short frequency of this Video for their commercial. Its about lash serum. I just wanted to mention this :) I suffer from ttm for 8 years. I also pull out my (upper) eylashes. Currently I have big gaps (but at least they are symmetrical lol).. Sometimes nearly the most of my lashes grow back, but then I pull again, again and over again. I just can't stand the urge.:( You are so brave and beautiful with or without lashes. i have ttm too :( i still have some eyelashes but it gets harder and harder everyday not to pull all of them off (mostly because i don’t think my mom knows what ttm is) and when she found out i pulled them out when i was younger she told me it made me look ugly and that it wasn’t normal for people to pull out their eyelashes :c that’s the only thing stopping me from pulling out all of my eyelashes

When I was in 1st grade my facial hair fell off, slowly. I have yearbook pictures and one is from 2014 and I am missing a eyebrow. Now one eye is full of lashes and the other has a full bottom lashes row and the top has a few, I am trying to grow them back.

I also have trich and pull out my lashes. I just started wearing false lashes this week and can't figure out how to get them close to my natural lash line.

Have u ever tried the magnet false eyelashes bc my eyelashes are not very strong and will be pulled out from the glue and your videos are so helpful I thought I was one of the only people that had this but a lot of people do but it is very humiliating for people to see my bald eyelids and I used to have big bald spots bc of trich and and found out ways to help grow my eyelashes hair and eyebrows back but I can never stop pulling them

On the Nouveau Lashes website I do not see anything called a lash applicator. I only see the superfine straight tweezers and the fine point tweezers. Which one were you referring to in your video?

Yes, you need to have some of your own lashes to support the false one’s. I have absolutely no lashes, plugged them since I was 13. Wish I had known that they stopped growing out. Today I use a eyeliner, but my dream is still at 62, to have beautiful lashes... So girls stop plugging your lashes - they will stop growing out
