I literally typed “putting on falsies without eyelashes” and this is the first thing that popped up. I’m absolutely thrilled that I found someone with my exact disorder absolutely rocking it with eyelashes. Thank you for this!

Omg I’m so happy to see other people with the same disorder as me. I’m 15 and I deal with exact same problems and for years I always thought I was crazy or weird for pulling out my eyelashes and eyebrows etc until I learned about Trichotillomania. I love sending your videos to my mom so she’ll better understand that it’s not something you can just stop doing and now she understands why I do it. And it makes me want to cry because now I know that I’m not alone with this disorder and I have a place I can feel safe to openly talk about it!

Babygirl you are not alone.. I pulled my lashes out as a child and they never grew back period...Its been over 30 years...Thank goodness For KZfaq because now I have been wearing falsies for a few years now and I refuse to look back..You can do it. .For years I avoided looking people directly in their faces and it was horrible in high school.... No one understands what we go through....Friends& Family will think you're crazy so you stay isolated and just avoid everyone..You hate explaining yourself ...I know...I have been there..... You may even get stressed due to life struggles and relapse...It happens. ..Its okay..I can't experience a relapse because mines never grew back from childhood..Straight baldness -- keeping it real... You'll be fine honey..With the power of KZfaq, a pair of falsies, and the right glue( the most important) -- you will slay hunty!!! If these bald , oily lids of mines can wear falsies to the high heavens, I know you can!! I believe in you and every other beautiful person who is dealing with this condition...WEEERKK!!!!❣❣💕

HoneyJazz29 Thank you so much for the motivation! My eyelashes will start to grow bc and then I’ll end up picking them right back out. My mom is currently working on getting me a Psych evaluation and working on seeing if I need medication to possibly help me calm it down but thank you so much I appreciate it✨‼️

I know it can be something a little hard for some other people to understand, but know that you are absolutely not crazy or weird, a lot more people than you’d think have it too. I’m 24 now and have been pulling mainly my eyelashes since about 7 or so. For a lot of the time it came and went in waves, and felt really self conscious about it. I went to school for psych and actually learned about trichotillomania in some of my classes, and was so helpful to learn that it can be closely related to or caused by ocd or anxiety. There are a lot of different ways to try to manage it, but at the end of the day we need to be kind to ourselves ❤️ I wish you the absolute best and a happy new year!

I'm 39 and have dealt with this since I was 11. They say major trauma triggered it and others say puberty did. Idk what did it but it's still here. Thank GOD for my little sister who introduced me to falsies 3 years ago. Now they're like a bra....I'll NEVER leave the house without them. Thank you for being so open about it.

I cried when I found your video and then I sat and cried for an hour when I came to your comments! I’m 52 & have pulled my lashes/brows since I was a child… all Drs ever said was “well, stop doing it”… I lived my whole life thinking it was just me, that I was odd for doing this and hid my face usually with sunglasses even inside… This video showed me not only am I NOT the only one but I CAN have false lashes when I have a severe episode (like I just did a few nights ago).. I am leaving for a cruise in 5 days and have been terrified that people will notice - now I can use my false lashes & not worry about them being too heavy without my lashes to hold them! THANK YOU… you have no idea how much this helped me! ❤

Thank you so much for making this video! I’m 37 years old. I started pulling my eyelashes in my eyebrows out when I was seven years old. I’ve had trichotillomania for 30 years. And it seriously made my life hell. I got teased, beat up, and Lived a very lonely depressed life due to this disorder. Good for you for making a video and helping other people I think that’s awesome! However if you could tell me what kind of glue you use I would greatly appreciate that. I see that it’s white and I can’t use any kind of glue with latex so if you be willing to share that that would be awesome?! 💕

Hello there , I use the DUO BRUSH ON GLUE.. It's a white tube with green lettering. It's latex free..Been using for some years now & absolutely love it. My lids are completely bald. I pulled when I was 10. .Now 30 years later, my lashes have not grown AT ALL...This glue is awesome..I did an experiment-- I slept in the same pair of lashes for 3 days & they didn't bulge at all...Now my mind you my lids are oily & bald....This glue does not play & I'm living for it!!!🙂🙂

I also have Trichotillmania, when I’m very stressed I pick out my eyelashes too but not all the way bald it’ll still have small baby hairs. I usually let it grow on it’s own when there’s not to pick on anymore I’ve had this since a little girl & now I’m in my 20s it’s still bad. I’ve tried false lashes but I’m allergic to the glue so hopefully some day all of this Trichy Can stop. You’re still beautiful w. or w. out lashes even if it’s really bad💛 stay positive

I've been doing this since the 4th grade and now I'm a freshman in college. Thank you for not shying away and helping others like myself. I just pulled out a lot of my lashes since college has been stressing me out so badly. It hasn't been this bad since middle school. I pick at my eyebrows and eyelashes and I didn't have them for 4 years. Now that I have had my lashes and eyebrows for 4 years it really sucks that I have so many patches again. Because of the patch, I pulled I'm definitely going to be needing this advice so thank you!

I’ve been suffering from TTM, since I was an adolescent. I don’t even know when it started tbh. I think trauma did it. It’s the sense of being in control and ofc OCD and anxiety. It’s not until now that I’m 30 that I literally just was doing it before watching this video. But anxiety definitely triggers it. I’ve been so embarrassed my whole life feeling weird and like I was the only one doing this. It’s not talked about and more awareness needs to be brought to it. I’m going to open up to my therapist about this. So I can maybe start some CBT, and finally learn to manage this disorder. Ty for being vulnerable and advocating about this silent disorder. Reading these comments I realize. I am not alone! We are in this together and we will beat it! 🎉❤

I truly understand all the comments because I have been dealing with trich since I was 10 yrs. old and I am now 67. I started with cutting my eyelashes. Mine has not been temporary as I still struggle with it to this day. I began pulling just the top lashes. Then when I was in my 20’s I began pulling my eyebrows in addition to the bottom lashes. It just became worse as time went on. I now pull my nose hairs and facial hair using tweezers. I pull my head hair occasionally but not necessarily compelled to. My husband was the one to tell me to seek help. I didn’t know this had a name bit Ive gone years of professional help. I am blessed to have a husband that has stood by me even with my struggles. I’ve been wearing false lashes for app. 40 years and they have helped me feel better about myself. It’s weird though because I pull my lashes out then put false ones on. Go figure.

Wow it’s crazy and amazing to know I’m not the only one going through this! I was actually up pulling my lashes and I told myself I wanted to stop I googled the conditions and learned a lil about Tric than I stumbled upon your YT PAGE and I landed here and thankfully for a great reason ! I’m happy to know I’m not alone. I started pulling my lashes & hair since 4 grade , I’m now 28 and I now do my lashes and brow. It’s so embarrassing because it’s very visible and I always feel weird like people are staring I don’t even like nobody close to my face . Only mom sister and son knows about it 😕 I bought fake lashes to cover the bald spots but still had visible bald spots now that you showed me a great way I can try this and hope this helps! Thank you so so so much!

I know it's a yr later lol...but a tip I discovered is to use my blow dryer on lowest setting right after applying lashes. Doesnt take long to figure out the sweet spot of distance and angle to hold it away from your face and you can get the glue fully dry while the lashes are more upright and keeps them from sagging down.

This is why I don't wear mink false lashes -- because of the thick band..Without any natural lashes to support it, the thick band won't stay up so you are so right about that...Other than that, . I wear my wispylashes with the thin bands everyday with my Duo brush - on lash glue and keep it moving...Stay safe & beautiful, girly!!💞💞💚💛!!🙂🙂

I havent been diagnosed but I've done a ton of research and my dad wont listen to me. I am 11 and in 6th grade. I turn 12 in a month I pulled a small patch along my part in 4th grade but I wasn't aware of it, it grew back after a few weeks and I was good until about september of 2020. I was playing video games with my online friend and I remember the exact words she said. "Oh great now I'm gonna rip out a bunch of hair and get a bald spot." And it dawned on me "hey I used to do that a bit when I was younger." And we talked about it briefly. I ended up pulling a gigantic patch at the end of my part at the back of my head. I was made fun of at school for it and ended up being quarantined because my stepbrother had symptoms of covid. I never told anyone what happened and just avoided the questions, and my parents saw and talked to me about it. My dad was like "just stop. You know what you're doing. this is ridiculous." And then I broke down about it. He called the principal and my school because my sister said its be best if I were a hat in school. After that it became repetitive and it became larger. My dad kept telling me to stop and I remember one time he cornered me, ripped my hat off and yelled at me before sending me up to my room. A few months later around mid-February my eye started twitching, so I grabbed my tweezers because i thought it was an eyelash bothering me. I ended up plucking a bunch of eyelashes because I wanted the twitching to stop. I woke up and immediately regretted what I did. I kept doing it and I couldn't stop. I ended up ripping all the eyelashes out of my left eye. My dad found out and comforted me for once. I was so confused but thanked him for not yelling at me for once. That day ripped a small gap in the middle of my right eye. A week later me and my dad moved out of my stepmom house because they broke up. I'd known this woman since I was 6-7. After my mom died she'd taken on the motherly role for me but recently she lost interest in me, and I even saw my dad texting her and she said that she gave up on me. We moved in with my grandma and late at night I was bored and ripped all the other lashes out of my right eye. Earlier in the month I taught myself how to do fake eyelashes on my own and have gotten better since then. My dad and I went shopping and he asked if I wanted small lash bits to glue in my gap and i said i didnt have one anymore. He gasped and took me into his truck, and as I tried explaining when he yelled and lectured me harshly I wanted to curl up in a ball and cry. He cut me off and said I should before driving home angrily. I tried talking to him again and I had the whole speech written out for him but as I tried speaking he cut me off and kept saying it made him feel horrible and worried. The whole time he never listened to me and I know now why I can never talk about my feelings without getting emotional. Its because I'm used to getting shut down and lectured. Please help somebody. I feel so alone and worthless.

I have trichotillomania that affects my top lashes and my eyebrows. However, I have very very sparse lower lashes naturally, so sparse that it's pointless to try mascara. My trick to make it look like I have lower lashes is to use eyeshadow. I have a Bestope "Precise Brush" that I use, but any thin round brush would work. I like this one because it's not eyeliner precise - it's rounded at the tip which helps with the effect. I wet my brush and then pick up a combo of matte brown and black eyeshadow (I'm dark haired, but match it to your hair color) and run it along my lower lid next to my waterline. I stop a bit before the inner corner where the eyelashes would naturally taper out. The rounded tip on the brush helps make it a soft line so it looks like the shadow eyelashes would make. I don't do a lot of big dramatic eye makeup looks, so this would be my recommendation if you're looking for a daytime look or you're going with simple eyeliner and neutral eyeshadow. Hope this helps!

I am 14 and I just started plucking my eyelashes out and people stair at me and every time they ask "Do you have blond eyelashes?" it makes me want to cry because they wouldn't understand if I told them about my issue. I am hoping to recover from this as soon as possible, does anyone have any other tips to help? As of right now I am using Vaseline to help them but I just keep picking them out. Thanks so Mich and have a great day

Can anyone tell me if it’s possible for those of us (trichy’s) who have bald eye lids, to use self adhesive lashes or magnetic liner and lashes? Or should I just stick to the regular tube of glue?

Is plucking her eyelashes a thing? I’ve started doing it and I had 3 layers of eyelashes now I have one layer and big gaps where I pull them out it’s addictive

I also have trich.I’ve been pulling my lashes out every since I was a little girl.I was supposed to get false lashes put on in a couple days. This will be my very first time wearing lashes.Do u think they will be able to put them on because of the baldness.

Hello, if they know what they are doing , then yes...If they tell you they can't, then leave...My lashes have not grown in over 30 years but I rock false lashes like nobody's business!! I lost my lashes as a child and they never grew back.. The trick is finding the right eyelash glue...You get the right glue. I promise you are set... My ride or die is the Duo brush on glue...(White tube with the green letters)..I have even slept in them for 3 days straight with this glue....Thank goodness for youtube!! .. .If you choose to do them yourself, I recommend the Ardell whispies lashes...They are very easy to work with along with that Duo Brush on glue I mentioned....You can do it girl....Hugs to you and every other beautiful soul on here dealing with this.....Know you all are not alone💕💞💞💛💜💙

Same I just learned to put them on because of my trich and it’s great ! I literally went to a water park went them but it depends on how much hair you have and what glue you use, I recommend Duo lash glue it’s the best !!

I had no idea there was a name for pulling your eyelashes out?! I have done it for yearrrrrs and I never knew why 😭😭😭😭 when I was 5 I got the chicken pox so severe I had one HUGE chicken pox in my right eye....after I got better, I had a HUGE scar on my eyelid where my lashes sit so I was missing a big chunk of lashes. Ugh. Ever since then, I’ve always plucked my lashes out and idk how to stop :’( :’(

Hi Beeta. Why did you only added four extra in the inner corner and not through the whole lash stacking 4? Did you stack it or just extend it to the inner corner to make it longer ? On the eye with lashes did you just add one strip and no extras ? TIA

Hey! I posted this above, but in case it gets buried, here's what I do.

I'm left handed but only pull my right lashes. I'm 40 now, so it's less and less pulling. But I do find my lashes are super weak and drop out excessively. I've just purchased so lash serum in hopes it will help make them stronger as I've never used anything on them. Hardly use eye makeup as that aggravates me and I start wanting to pull again.
