Profesor, esto es oro puro, soy tenor, y estoy luchando en este preciso momento para poder lograr el correcto apoyo del aire, y realizar la cobertura de la voz, más la colocación en los resonadores. Me es una lucha. Mi registro va de un Si2 a un Re5. Usted explica las cosas de una manera, y con ejemplos prácticos sencillos y claros, ojalá pudiera tomar clases con usted. Pero soy de Argentina. This is wonderful! I am a tenor with very nice, though falsettoish high notes. However, my midrange is unbalanced. This could fix my issues.

hola. la acústica del salón es magnífica y eso ayuda mucho, hay que practicar estos ejercicios en un lugar con una acústica parecida a esta, como en el canto a cappella. Valiosísimo el video, gracias!!

Idk why but I try to sing with the breath instead of pushing/pinching the cords and my voice sounds way darker!!!!

I am wondering about the vibrato. Some people claim they don't make it. But in opera I feel you have to make it. Because it is obviously also possible to sing without it. But is it made with the stomach and the soft palette in combination or is it airflow an larynx?

There are no modern opera singers who have an authentic vibrato. Listen to later recordings of Corelli for the best example of authentic vibrato. The vibrato kicks in once the registers are completely balanced and the appoggio is strong. Singers who have no vibrato are using too much TA tension and so block the air flow. This can also manifest as a tremolo where the movement is too fast and can be a result of neck and/or jaw tension. The majority of modern opera singers have wobbles which can sound a bit like true vibrato for a while but eventually the movement slows down as the voice deteriorates. This is usually a result of inefficient TA closure and too much breath pressure. The vibrato will automatically come in once the TA closure is strong (but with thin edge function) and the CT muscle has become flexible enough to stretch the vocal folds efficiently. Add to this a balance of expiratory and inspiratory tension and voila, the vibrato appears as if by magic! Of course it`s not magic but the result of years and years of diligent study if one is lucky enough to find someone to study with.

@@JussiPaul Thank you! I am a semi retired singer who had to quit because tensions and a lot of struggles with my singing. I honestly do not know if is possible for me to ever sing properly again. The dream is still alive though. Will work on appoggio and hopefully something will happen. But I fear my has deteriorated from too much "wrong" for far too long :(

@@jesperjee Sorry to hear that! I`m intending to make a video about vibrato which will hopefully help but the best thing for a damaged voice is just to do lots of falsetto (both breathy and edgy as I dermonstrate in this video). I wish you all the best!

My head voice is weak. It has much less strength and volume than my chest voice. It only has power in a very high range that is almost useless for me to sing. There it does have projection and volume. What could I do? Thanks for the video.

You need to take the time to strengthen the falsetto. Once it is strong enough then you can add chest voice coordination in order to create the full voice. Rome wasn`t built in a day!
