You can swipe with acetone instead of buffing to prep the nail for gel polish after the set is on. Works well for me and no dust.

Jamie (yep, finally stopped calling ya BGN...lol). Want you to know that I totally appreciate how much attention you pay to comments, replying/"hearting"/upvoting, etc. Not many bother doing that. It puts you above the rest, and makes us watching feel wanted. You honestly never know when someone is having a bad day, feeling down/lonely, and even your little heart can make a person feel a bit happy. Your effort is amazing! While I want badly to try this whole Après system, I do NOT appreciate the price of the full kit, I think Après is a bit TOO proud of themselves. In your opinion, what is the best alternative to the Après extend gels for longevity? I notice the Gold extend gel on the Après site says you will get about/up to 4 weeks of wear, but the black bottle with screw off brush type lid of extend gel with PH bonder mixed in is not rated as well by users due to the texture and clumpiness (yet is more expensive at over 30 bucks for what I guess is 15ml), but per the company says will adhere their nails for over 4 weeks. The gel that comes in the wide mouthed container without an attached brush says "4+" weeks of adhesion (WTF? not getting the difference between over 4 weeks to 4+ weeks, or is it just me?!?!), but the wide mouthed jar product is rated a bit better on consistency by buyers. What specific brand and product (or products) that are non-Après, with a better price point do you personally think is the BEST for longevity and either the same or a different product you think is best overall for ease of application/use, that tends to be below Après prices, if possible? I refuse to pay the prices that one lone company sets for a product, when we know there are various, cheaper ways to adhere the same product. BTW, even if the ombre was not what you expected, it still looked great! Came out better than the perfectionist in you assumed, IMO! Thanks, girly, great vid, as usual! I like the vivid colors better, but both kits are fun! I bet you are feeling the urgent need to do a giveaway of the vivid colored nails...lolololol! JK! Edit: spelling

Skeeter I have actually used regular builder gel like I did with my last set and they’ve stayed on almost 4 weeks and I can still go another 4. I’ve got a complete dupe video you should watch doll. Products I have used on myself that lasted just as long. It’s in my Apres playlist. I appreciate the sweet comment girl. I’m here for all of my supporters and friends. I’ll never change. MsKateeD Just keep practicing girl. It takes time. You will get it. Using poly gel helps a lot. Try clear poly gel.

Have you tried the lazy girl method? Which is basically attaching with colored polygel and applying a top coat..I ask because I tried the apres dupe which I like but I'm not a fan of painting my nails..TY

Can you use the step of etching with acetone in place of filing on these gel tips? It seems a lot easier and less time consuming. Thanks for the video. I love these colors.

You make it look so easy! I tried this system with the dark nude tips for the first time today and had air bubbles in each and every one. :( I don't think I used enough gel, but then again, I also had it seeping out the cuticle so....I ended up soaking them all off to avoid getting water contamination and then a potential infection. Any advice for next time would be great appreciated!! The idea of using acteone instead of etching with an efile is great one BTW!

operachef1 Yes it’s kinda hard at first but when you get the hang of it, you got it. Just remember less gel is best. Once you get the right amount of gel you won’t have any leaks or bubbles. I’m actually fixing to do an upgrade video on these for another lady if you’re interested. Just stay tuned in. I’ve also learned using a primer is better for etching instead of acetone. I’ve been using primer now for a year or so. Works fabulous. So watch my new video coming up soon and it should help. I’m doing step by step. Thanks sweetheart

I got a set done in a salon and that’s what got me into all this. I’m a little concerned though because mine I have on now from the salon look longer than those and I ordered medium 😨 but they’re also definitely the natural not the sculpted coffin so I’m confused since the Aprés company doesn’t seem to make natural coffin longs... I hope I don’t hate the medium length when they come in

Can you use the golden bottle extend gel as nail polish? Instead of the gel top coat?

The extend gel that I have is thick like a builder gel so No, I wouldn't use it as a nail polish. You can use it to put strength over the natural nail plate. Is that what you mean??

Try putting your hands in the lamp for just a few seconds at a time. It helps.

Just curious what made u use acetone instead of etching with a drill? It does look easier but I’ve never seen anyone use that technique. How have you found the nails lasted?

Jacelyn Heta They actually lasted great. The Apres KZfaq channel showed me that awhile back. You can also use primer instead and it worked fabulous also.

Those are really nice, Apres has come a long way. Can you tell me if there is any way that the tip of a full cover nail can be made to look more "natural"? I'd love to be able to just slap a bit of top coat on & go without my hands hollering "fake nails, fake nails"!

Check out the video where I apply these to my own nails. It looks very natural. The length is perfect too. I know what ya mean however but I think if you do it right, they will look like real nails. Thanks doll.
