Hi! I would recommend fine or medium. If you use coarse, it will be too rough on the natural nails. If I’m doing a soak off and then another set or if the nails are damaged, I always use fine.

I always wanted to know what is the point of encapsulating? When doing Gel x do you always have to Or is it a preference? Love this set btw :)

Thank you! Encapsulating just creates a different design look and you have more design options because a lot of things that are encapsulated can't just be Added straight to the top of the nail or else they'll just pop off and the design won't last but depending on what you're using for the design, you don't always have to encapsulate.

Do we have to cure the gel on the natural nail first before applying the fake nail with the gel in it? Or do we cure it all together

You cure the thin layer of gel on the natural nails for 30 seconds first. But I have also applied the gel nails without doing that step at all so it’s your preference really

Depends on what state you live in. In Va you do. You can also take clients free of charge and take tips only though if you don’t plan on getting a license

You can but it doesn’t last as long. I would use builder gel before I would use a base coat unless you don’t plan on wearing them long

I seen some people use Polygel as an adhesive, or base gel, and know extender gel!! Okay, so now I', even more uncertain what to get as an adhesive!

Cosmic Soul love your name! And I would suggest starting with the actual extend gel. It has lasted the longest for me. I like polygel because you can use different colors but trying to get that to last as long or apply as easily as extend gel is very difficult. As far as the base gel, when I used that it was very easy to apply but didn’t last long at all.

My hands are forever in water. I’m a stay at home mom and toddler mom. Are you prepping properly? Sanding the underside of your extension as well? Pro bond? Acid free primer?

Just a few tips. I’m not a pro but I do my own nails and mine have lasted very long. Also my 18 year old is very rough on her nails and she has had them on for at least three weeks. I don’t even use the name brand nails either. I use the dupe method

Clara Rodriguez honestly I wouldn’t be able to tell you since I don’t know exactly what you’re doing. I’m sure you do need the right amount of gel. Enough to cover your natural nail. Do you use bond and primer? That’s the only thing I can think of because some people produce more natural oil than others and that can contribute to them popping off. Or unless you aren’t using the right size nails? I think if they’re too small they can pop off

Clara Rodriguez i also don’t think their mini lamp would be the problem because I think you would notice if your nails are not fully cured but you can also try giving your nails a full cure with a higher watt lamp. OR just curing a little longer. I can’t really say because I haven’t used that lamp and don’t know how strong it is

Do you mean what are other methods of applying where you don’t have to cure? Or you don’t have a lamp to cure?

I’ve never had an issue with that. This client’s nails were very short and she wanted long but I recommended the medium length instead and she ended up having no issues. They lasted four weeks, so I just recommend not to go very long if their nails/nail beds are extra short.
