Well, I did better than I do on most RSD outings. I think there were some missed/late drops, so there might be more RSD buys coming soon.

Hello Chris; Sloth records good name & T-shirt. Too bad your RSD wants were not in stock. Good you found the Tragically Hip, on colored vinyl. The Sam Phillips Comp. looks good. The HooDoo Blues comp. is another good find. The Allman Brothers live, Fillmore West 71. Nice RSD pick ups. Take care, Tina & Pat!~

Hi T&P!! I did well considering all from my 'first picks' list were gone or unavailable. My 'runner-up' list was more successful with The Hip, Allman Bros, etc. Maybe the Howlin' Wolf will show up next week... fingers crossed. Cheers!

Thanks for sharing your experience in the intro. Very cool. Didn’t know about Yardbirds Psycho Daisies. Guessing it is Page or Beck/Page songs. Would like that, along with The Doors in Europe 3 lp set. Congrats on your haul. You did well.

man you did well at RSD, it was good to see your regular haunts after hearing you talk about them, asive said before i think kiving in the middle of the fens here in the uk dont have any record shops near by but there is no way i would que for hours for anything and apart from that my budget wouldnt stretch to that , ive seen other people showing stuff they got $80 for this 60, 40,etc out of my league, man you got some great albums, love that early sun stuff got a few comps of them, that hoodoo blues album has some killer stuff on it, great allman brothers album been listening to to them in the car on the way to work as a tribute to dickey betts R.I.P, did get to a record fair a last sunday, always take about £30 cash and that makes me dig and work for it picked up 7 among them was a great blues rock album rory gallagher irish tour 74 awesome stuff, cheers chris hope you pick up some more during the week

Thanks Stephen. I think my method of having 2 lists: one for my top picks, and another for my runner-up picks was the way to go. I was a little disappointed there was no Howlin' Wolf, but I think it will drop next week... hopefully. Sounds like you found some good tunes on you latest dig. Love Rory Gallagher! Great find with the Hip, Chris - that sold out pretty fast in my region. Hopefully the Howl'n Wolf and other albums on your want list show up later. - Joel

Looks like you did fine. I was out of the country, vacationing in Spain, so didn’t get a chance to go. Oh well, there’s always another RSD to look forward to.

I did OK, but missed a lot too. Still can't find the Howlin' Wolf Live or the Earl Hooker. I think I would rather vacation in Spain than go to a record store day. LOL! Thanks. Cheers!

This year seems to be a lot more crowded for RSD. The Howlin' Wolf was at my store and I was very tempted but cut myself off. I usually pick up the Sun Records comp but did not see it at the two stores I visited. I have picked up several of those Rough Guide comps but somehow missed it this year. I think it is some kind of law in Canada to pick up any Tragically Hip. Cheers.

The line ups surprised me this year Randy. There was no way I was going to wait for 3 hours. Weird that I was able to just walk into Heritage Music (no line), but a few blocks away the other 2 stores had massive lines. Hopefully that Howlin' Wolf will surface for me next week. The Hip are so big here in Canada that it's almost a sin not to buy. LOL! Thanks. Cheers!

Hi Chris!! Well it wasn't a bad RSD after all..... and no way i would spend hours standing in line to get into a record store and on a saturday morning!!! Let's hope you can get the albums you're looking for and for a fair price too. cheers and be well

Hey Cristian. I wouldn't spend hours in line either... it seems crazy to me. I did pretty well even though most of my top picks were unavailable or already sold out. Later in the week, I'll check again... who knows what I might find? Have a great week bud. Cheers!

Onya Chris. Another down to earth realistic reflection on overrated RSD (dare I say it). It is starting to catch on in Australia but mostly in the cities. Regional areas- well, most people will walk away from a crowd queue and the frenzy this creates. Some of those titles listed are nothing special which detracts as well. The search online or elsewhere second hand continues for titles that I really want. RSD should be an everyday thing…

Thanks Bruce. I too will walk right pass a store on RSD if there's a massive queue. Luckily one store had no line-up and the other I know the owner so he just let me in. For me, RSD is more about finding new or previously unreleased albums. I don't get caught up in the hype because, as you mentioned, a lot of the releases are nothing special. Cheers!
