I found the answer to full wireless audio for gaming - the answer is aptX Low Latency, also known as aptX LL!

This video remains to be the best benchmark for day to day devices. I open it once a week when thinking about upgrading my headphones... for anyone curious, I use momentum true wireless gen 1 earbuds (they support aptxLL) with a 2015 DELL audio driver for windows 10 PC. This 2015 driver supports aptx LL transmission. Its a good gaming solution for PC, and the buds can be used for my phone too, but my phone only supports aptX; no LL :(. The adapter shown in the video acts as a USB speaker, so some functionality is lost for stereo audio to bluetooth headphones.

I'm still rather confused why no phones have aptX LL support and why many other brands are saying it's a "ultra low-latency" when it's nowhere as good as aptX LL.

@@NasiLemakTech ROG Phone should definitely pay the AptxLL royalty fee. For other manufacturers, I think it's not worth it. I think Apple will implement their own LL codec soon enough, especially with iPad being marketed as a full productivity AND entertainment device. Maybe google will too for their pixel, to promote stadia.

I'm not sure if Google will do it - the new Pixel Buds has Qualcomm's TWS codec which I have not tried before.

This is VERY informative. Thanks! I always hated the delay on my bluetooth devices but you comparison to wired sound sold me. Switch got recently a Blutooth audio update but I like low latency gaming.

Thanks! But take note that the S20 earphones are wired using USB-C - the Ugreen is 3.5mm audio jack.

I was looking for aptx-LL all over youtube and all over the internet and could never find something conclusive. Thanks a lot for this video, the Razer Hammerheads aptx-LL cannot be used, because the smartphones don't have aptx-LL.

A lot of brands are selling their wireless earbuds as "low latency" which I think... yeah not something that I'll say as low latency.

I'd like know the lantecy of Razer Hammerheads with the lowest latency Aptx codec. Also, is it lower lantency than connecting and iphone 11 to airpods or airpods pro? They use Apple proprietary codec.

Ah okay. The Razer Hammerhead doesn't support aptX LL, so it'll be dropped to aptX only. The latency varies between devices, so it's difficult to say anything concrete about them. As for iPhone and AirPods, I don't have any of them for testing. Though, Apple's AAC codec is supported by many TWS and Android phones in the market.

Have you considered RF instead of bluetooth? 5.8ghz wireless audio pack thats meant for guitars? curious how rf wireless compares to bluetooth aptx LL

I have not used that before. It should be better than aptX LL given that higher frequency means more data per second - which in turn means more real-time connection but at the cost of signal stability.

Best Combo I found so far comes from Creative Labs: Crative Aurvana Wireless Trio + Creative BT-W3. On the transmitter you can cycle codes if you wish and up to 8 devices paired.

For Switch, I strongly recommend the Genki Bluetooth adapter. Much more slim than any of these and it does APTX LL.

Reiyin BT 5.0 CSR8675 with microphone support APTX LL... I've been searching for a long time this is the only way on PC. I can only find this on Aliexpress and shipping takes a terribly long time.

in the end, for phone users with 3.5mm jack, just use wired earbuds.... kind of kill the purpose if we still use wired earphones + the transmitter and receiver (for gaming on portable device/ smartphone, since we will always look at them) until someday this tech improve to the point to achieve very low latency with just built in bluetooth, without any transmitter and receiver, just TWS vs Device

There are two parts to the aptX LL setup. There's a transmitter and receiver. The transmitter is the GuliKit Route+ Pro, whereby the receiver is the Ugreen adapter. The receiver has a 3.5mm audio jack, so I can plug it whatever headphone/earphone/speaker that I want.

Nice bro! Would like to know does it connect automatically as soon as u powered both of the devices together? If i were to connect to my type c Phone, how to ensure both of the devices using Aptx LL? Cuz i dont think i have options to set the aptx ll codec, not in developer option as well.

There are no smartphones that has aptX LL support. We'll need an external transmitter for it - and that's where the GuliKit Route+ Pro comes into play.

I think this is the easiest path to achieve aptX LL with your existing wired headphones. However, it is very susceptible to signal interference so I think 5 meters might be pushing it

Then it will use the most common codec, SBC. Doesn't sound particularly magnificent in terms of quality, but it works. Audio delay is high.

We don't have the Arctis 1 but we can tell you one thing for sure - the Arctis has much less delay because it's using a proprietary dongle for its wireless connectivity.

Nope. ROG Phone has aptX LL. But none of them are good. External one is the best

I know xiomi is copying huawei designs and there's companies that literally have identical Huawei chargers, headphones but under a different name so they can pass the us inspections and huawei can still make money

That's an excellent question. We tested - and that's not the case. aptX Adaptive does not fall back to aptX LL. You'll need a dongle.

In this case, if I use my current speaker which does not support aptx LL, and my phone which only supports aptx adaptive, will buying the dongle work then? I understand that the whole Bluetooth audio and its codecs... can be a little confusing and overwhelming. Yes, you can just get an aptX LL Bluetooth audio dongle and plug it into your phone and it will work. The dongle shown in this video here is made for the Nintendo Switch, but we also plugged it into our PC and other Android smartphones - and it works flawlessly.

Unfortunately, no. The GuliKit's aptX LL codec only works with another aptX LL receiver - hence that's why we used the Ugreen dongle. So far, there is no low-latency trick or hack for true wireless earbuds :(

Boooo! That much effort, money and compromise on still existing latency. I'm also a sucker for "high tech / futuristic products" but this is essentially wasting money for a downgrade. I'm sensitive to input lags and audio sync issues. I'll stick to my trusty wired headphones, thank you.
