Hi Everyone 😁
This time, I've bought the Zigbee version of Xiaomi's Temperature & Humidity sensor that connects up to the Xiaomi gateway.
In this vid, I set up the sensor and run through the different options and screens of the app.

Hi ixis love your vids, just got my Xiaomi gateway and thermometer from santa. The thermometers are heading for my av rack in garage to monitor temp and humidity then to be signalling extract fans for the enclosure. Have you had any luck adding the mi home app to Google assistant ??I add it in assistant but just loops to the add device screen? I'm looking to getting bulbs as well but obviously want voice control via assistant?

Aww thanks Paul 👍😁🤗 I haven't had a go of adding the Mi home app to Google yet. As for bulbs, I highly recommend Yeelight 👍 they work brilliantly with Google home and the Mi gateway 😁 I've got 4 rgb bulbs & 2 smart LED strips, all by Yeelight 😊😉 I love how the magic cube by Xiaomi controls the lights, shake to turn off, rotate to dim, push to change colour! 😁😂 Sounds like a great set up you're putting together too 👍😉😁 Thanks for watching 👍😉

@@IXISonTech thanks for the response, I've been looking at them for a while but Phillips do some Xiaomi supported lamps called Zhirui look smart. Do you know of any gu10 lamps supported under Xiaomi. I'm currently using MiLight for couple of places. The system will be used under the control of open hab eventually to tie all the different products together. Happy new year!

As for GU10, I have read that Ikea bulbs work with the Xiaomi gateway! 😁😊 Haven't tried them yet, my local Ikea is 15miles away 😒 Also, have you read about Xiaomi being blocked by Google today?! 😕☹️😩 I used my usual "goodnight" routine last night, and Google said it couldn't connect! 😮😯 Hope they fix it soon!

@@IXISonTech AHH IKEA good idea cheers. I did, though I'm definitely going to be running via open hab. I have 0% programing experience and built my test setup a while ago and worked. Lots of support out there for noobs! But it supports Xiaomi with lots more. Worth a play

Do the temp readings show in the Google Home app?

Unfortunately no ☹️😒 would be great if Google home could tell you the temp in a certain room, but it doesn't. You have to go in to the MI home app and check all the time 😒 Thanks for watching 👍

That's a good question 🤔 I know with the Xiaomi gateway you can add some Ikea bulbs and some Philips bulbs, not sure about smart things though. Do you have many devices connected to your smart things hub?

@@IXISonTech yea i have about 15 door and window sensors, 5 motions, a couple deadbolts and about 20 bulbs. I just like these sensors because they seem super affordable. I mean I guess the gateway is as well but didn't want to have to buy it if I didn't need it. The temp sensors for smartthings are like 30 bucks so kinda pricy.

Wow! You're pretty invested in smart things then 👍 I would do some research online to see if you could add a Xiaomi product to smart things though 😉😊 Would be great if you could 👍🤞

@@IXISonTech Hey! Have you had any luck? I recently got this sensor, but i haven't been able to connect it to my smartthings hub, there are ways which you can code the connection through Smartthings IDE, but you must link it to GitHub which is only available in the US. I will be very grateful if you find a way to link it to the smartthings hub! Thank you!
