Extra video for this week is Xiaomi Aqara Temperature, Humidity and Pressure sensor that was sent to me free of charge by Banggood.
In today's video we will look into this Zigbee sensor from Xiaomi, how to pair it with cc2652RB inside Zigbee2MQTT and what entities we are able to track inside Home Assistant
We will also talk about use cases for the sensor because there is more then meets the eyes.

Amazon had a nice sale on these last week and I ordered several of these. I placed them throughout my house and they are working very well - given I'm less than a week in. Also picked up several Aqara motion sensors and a water detector too. BeardedTinker - you vids are very helpful, thank you!

Thank you very much Chris! I love those temp sensors and also have about 3-4 motions sensors. and you reminded me that I still haven't created any automation for leak detector :) At least I'll know when leak starts...

Thanks for another great video. I have been using these sensors for over a year now and fully agree with your comments. There is also an Aqara water leak sensor which can be put under a washing machine or sink, it is waterproof so could maybe even go on the side of a bath.

I have one under my dishwasher. Hope it's working 😂 I've seen someone using it to notify when bathtub is full. There was a blog post or something - the idea is great and there are probably dozen more creative ideas for it.

Thanks for the video! Again very useful and articulated explanation! I was considering one thing watching this...is it possible to have multiple zigbee devices (different producers on same zigbee standard) to one hub or are separate hubs needed (f.i. xiaomi hub+xiaomi zigbee devices, sonoff hub with sonoffs etc...)? I have some zigbee devices but I haven't tested (bought) any other if they are interoperable... Do you know if this should work? Again, thank you very much and keep up the good work! Pozdrav, Andrej

Thank you very much for the comment Andrej. It should work, if you have them integrates in Home Assistant with Zigbee2mqtt or ZHA. I have on my router (cc2652rb) Xiaomi and IKEA devices. Plus whatever else I test. If you are using for example sonoff with original app, then (I think but not 100% sure) you can only pair Sonoff decides. Same as for examp6 with IKEA tradfri hub you can only pair IKEA devices. Best bet is to go with something like cc2652rb, Conbee or if you know how, Sonoff, but you have to flash custom firmware on it.

I'm using it for a while now(outdoor). No issues there, maybe two times sensor lost connection to bridge (while others keep working) but simple click on button resolved issue. I only have doubts in regard of pressure sensor accuracy but that is story for another time.

Yeah, pressure accuracy... Not best. I wanted to film/compare it with classic barometer but skipped it to make it short(er) :D

Thanks for the comment David. Vent is just simple 10-15$/€ vent that is installed in wall, and sensor is Xiaomi Mijia temp and humidity sensor - model is WSDCGQ01LM

Sorry to say, but no - this is still on my to do list - for ready made sensors. My Xiaomi ones are sitting in the sun/rain, but I us e this to protect them: www.thingiverse.com/thing:4620242 It's been working for some time now, but I'm waiting for first winter in this setup to see if they'll continue to work. Also, I do have one additional sensor, but it's DIY that has temperature, humidity and air quality - it's called Luftdaten sensor. Nice videos keep up the good work. I have a question. What is the ideal room pressure unit ? For example on winter what hPa value should force us to open the windows?

Thank you Berkan!!! I only have tested 2 pressure sensors - Aqara and one used in plant sensors. Also, never bothered to check against traditional pressure monitors to see difference.

Do you still have the STL for the actual sensor mount cause something changed on the thingiverse page and now we only have the mount for the sonoff sensor. Edit: It is there in the comments the author replied to someone with the same question. Srry :) I'll leave the comment for boosting engagement :)

Thanks for your video. I am using XIAOMI Mijia Bluetooth Thermometer, the one with the display. There are videos on how to integrate them in HA through a esp32. and there is custom firmware for them. I do believe the battery doesn't last more than 6 months. I am planing to use them in conjunction with my thermostat.

I've seen that. There are few Xiaomi thermometers with display using BLE that can be integrated. But I've decided to stay away from as much of Bluetooth device as possible. Batteries are one reason, but more then that is need to create new coverage for them. There is one nice with clock included on screen - boxy one from Xiaomi that I do like

@@BeardedTinker you right the one you shows are easy to integrate in HA with the one i have you do need an esp32 that acts as a hub. if they are used as in room thermostat and you like to see the temperature on the device they are nice. Quite chip to,i think i payed 12EUR for 4.

I have ESP32 for one other project that I use also as "hub" for devices I have (Xiaomi Body Scale and Xiaomi Mosquito Repellent).

at minute 6:50 how can I change the zigbee temp from Celsius to Fahrenheit? I know HA changes automatically in front end. But is there a way to change on the zigbee2mqtt page?

Home Assistant 2022.7 will have even more ways to change from unit to some other unit than now. Zigbee2MQTT is showing whatever unit device is sending. So, no, you can't change it there. Most of the devices don't support that.

Thanks for the video. Where can I go to debug the HA code I have to turn on a plug when the humidity from the Aqara Temp-Humidity sensor exceeds 50%? Forgive me if I shouldn't post code here - won't happen again if I shouldn't :). Check my bathroom automation here: github.com/BeardedTinker/Home-Assistant_Config/blob/master/automations/switches/bathroom_vent_humidity_start.yaml I would remove that for: part as you really don't need it. Difference in my automation is that I also check if bedroom sensor (that is nearby) is lower value - why, to avoid vent running if overall home humidity is high. In terms of how often data is reported - it's not that easy. It can update data up to every 1 hour, BUT, if there is significant change in values it will update data immediately. For example, in my chart I see updates every 30-50 minutes, but when somebody is showering it can send update in 2-3 minutes from time shower started.
