Two things I forgot to mention in the video: The aqua sensor does NOT fit the polyform aqua buoys. The thread and diameter of the fill hole is completely different. If you have to fill the bag yourself, you can get a garden hose shut off valve adapter that you can screw on the end of the hose. That way you can turn the water on and control the flow from next to the bag without water spraying everywhere. Food for thought.
@jakepayne2985
@jakepayne2985 3 жыл бұрын
Or one of those snake flexible hoses that expand with water and coil up when off. They have a shut off valve built on them. The iGrass brand on Amazon has lasted me a year so far with heavy use. 100ft, and would never use a traditional hose now, they’re bad ass!

Is the aqua sensor thread larger or smaller than the polyform? If the thread is larger, then it should be possible to 3d print and adapter. Please let me know! Thanks

I saw in another video where they first unboxed and filled the bag. The bag material seems very thick and stiff so now I understand why you suggested using air to inflate the bag first. I was thinking along similar lines by putting warm water (not hot) into the bag and letting the plastic/rubber material slowly reform from its' flattened shipping shape before fully filling it and stressing it to the max. A lot of the One Star comments was about the bag splitting and I wonder if filling it with cold water in a cold, flat, stiff bag might be too much stress for the material. In any case, I'd still be afraid to hang it inside my house. In the basement there is a floor drain in case my bag develops a split. Another thing I would have liked to have seen was some sort of metal/plastic circular ring or half circle between the "D" shackle and the rubber mounting hole - to spread the stress over a larger area. But, it may not be needed since I haven't read of any failures in that area.
@TheRollDdice
@TheRollDdice Жыл бұрын
Great idea! Filling it with warm water to let it stretch out is a lot more feasible than pumping compressed air into the Aqua Bag for most of us.

Anti freeze works! I tried and left it there all winter. For this size 10 - 14 Oz of anti freeze is enough. However! You can’t get the antifreeze by simply pouring. I actually used injector to pressure press it inside the bag

Great content! Looks like you can really work body shots too. I'm very interested in getting this but one concern. I have limited space where I'd hang it in my home gym in the basement. I'll have to take it down when I want to use my bench press, etc in the same space. I know you showcased the 18" and that's 120#s. Obviously, a pain in the ass to hang/rehang solo. Thinking about the 15" cuz that's significantly less weight at 75# and more managable. Question: Do you think the 15# is large enough to work body shots based on your experience with the 18#?
@csquaredboxing

Thanks man, the 15# may be a tad small and is better for working mobility rather than power body shots

Just a tip. I have had my 21" bag for 2.5 years and what I did was fill it with water 3/4 full, then with a hand pump I filled it with air till the wrinkles went away (shove the needle of the hand or foot bike tire air pump all the way in). The wrinkles are very hard to hit in cold weather. I used a ladder to place the foot tire air pump on and filled it with air till the wrinkles went away.

Nice review. I'm considering getting the 15 inch Aqua bag (£110) or the A2 polyform buoy (also 15inch for £35). But the aqua bag is £75 ($105) more expensive than the polyform, would you say the aqua bag is still worth considering due to the softer feel of the fabric? I am happy to pay more if there would be some significant benefit particularly if it's easier on joints?

I hit too hard for my own good and my wrist are aching with or without gloves. I'm really looking at one of those aqua bags. It's just I'd have to get my peanut bag out and I love that thing 😞. Antifreeze purpose is to prevent water from freezing and it's not as corrosive to the engine blocks. I wonder though, who corrosive might it be to the aqua bag.

I put anti-freeze in my buoy to be able to hang it outside and it was just fine even when it was -10°C for a prolonged period of time recently. (Just mix the water and anti-freeze to the correct proportions for whatever temperature you want the buoy to handle). I also made a smaller buoy to work as a headhunter bag that I store in my basement and hang up whenever I want to use it. I believe you recommended that in an older video?

Never tried the sensor, but I love the aqua bag. I'd never go back to a traditional heavy bag. The ability to throw uppercuts is a game changer for your training. Looks like you need to add more water though, thats why you have the wrinkles. If you can remove that plug and water doesn't immediately start shooting out, then you still lots of space to add water to get rid of those wrinkles in the bag

@@ethanwilliamson782 i agree. plus canelo's hooks aren't ripping everlast hydrostrikes in half. some people will fill the rest of the bag up with air to remove the indentations. in the case of the everlast though, their directions specifically say to only fill it 80%, filling with air is good but not necessary, and finally they come with a 2 year warranty... i'm pretty sure aqua bag says the same. they make set ups for kids to hit them with baseball bats now!

I'm planning on buying the 18" bag, but the problem is the only place where i can attach it to, is where the attachment point would be 15" from the wall. So the bag would have about 7.5" of clearance from the wall (if i understood the dimensions correctly). Would you think that would work? I've understood that the aqua bags don't create as much movement compared to traditional heavy bags. And the attachment point would be pretty low so the chains could be quite short, which would also reduce movement. Also, the place would be in my living room, so how much noise would hitting it create? I guess one could wrap the chains with something so that could help a bit.
@csquaredboxing
@csquaredboxing 2 жыл бұрын
That would work, and you’re correct aqua bags are typically more stationary because they absorb the energy of the shot much better than a traditional heavy bag with bounces/ swings more

Hey I got one of these at home and just took me 2 hours to take down because it was extremely hard for me to push up the aqua bag while it was filled and hanged. What is the best way to get these down? Any tools you recommend to take down the bag or any method of draining other than trying to push the bag up and tilt?

Hey man your vids are very helpful, I figure you have a lot of boxing gear that is completely useless to you as you review so much. I am trying to train as best as possible in lockdown but as you probably know everything of decent quality is sold out in England because of the lockdown. If you have anything that has absolutely no use to you I would appreciate it a ton if you would ship something to me. I would obviously pay for any shipping costs, don’t worry if not man love ur vids bro keep it up

I apologize if this is covered later in the video (still watching). I already set up a mount in my garage gym, and really only have room for one bag at a time. I ordered one of the smaller headhunter Aqua bags, but also want one of the big ones. How am I gonna switch them out without having to drain the big bag everytime? That seems like a pain in the ass! Really excited to use the bags, but I wanna utilize the different sizes. Theoretically, would I be able to safely lift the large bags off the chain and place it on the ground while I use the smaller one? Thanks

@@csquaredboxing not true, both Taylormade bags and aqua are 3mm thick I've cut through both... the owner of Aquabag (newyorkboxingandfitness) bashes on people trying to save money on instagram.. Its awesome having different colors but when you are charging that much of a premium to a lot of fighters/people who are already low on cash is shady.. it's tough times out here

@@csquaredboxing I have the striketek, it's goes under wraps it can be finicky with the disconnects sometimes But the information I got off them, I was able to adjust my body mechanics and increase my punching power because it gives you your speed and lbs force on each hand individually in real time From what I've gathered they make sensors for Bellator as well, haven't used in awhile because of disconnects and one of the sensors was draining quicker Punch trackers are great tools that push you to stay busy I love them thanks for bringing awareness to them
