I spent the rest of the movie thinking about how stupid it would be to make Arthur literally king of a culture he knew nothing about and then disappointed in Mera because she would make a better ruler but she seems consigned to marry whoever ends up as king. Then I realized how terrible all the female characters are because they both just do what the men around them want, then thought about the reasons it's not actually anything like Thor or Black Panther because those plots make sense and have good characters and then...
