Thank you both for the information. I'm a rose lover, too. I do this for finding the water level: I made a "dipstick" with a small diameter, light weight dowel rod long enough to reach the bottom of the water well yet rise above the top of the fill tube. Then inserted said dowel into a wine cork (may want to secure with water proof glue). Drop that set up into the fill tube. The cork will bob on the water. Mark your dowel for low water and you can easily see when to refill.

Do it with a wooden dowel inserted in the fill hole for the water level. Oso Easy looks like a keeper.

The only way to tell when its full of water is when you see run off from the drain hole underneath that should be UN plugged. Two features I see Jack Barnwell and Proven Winners upgrading in the 2nd version of these pots would be a longer telescoping fill tube and a drain/fill hole on the side of the pot like they have built into the ceramic pots.

Not even sure we have things like this over here. Hmm...i'll have to check!
