I'm an American but my dad's side is from Munster Ireland and my mom's side is from Cardiff and South Monmouth Wales they came over in 1892 thier last name was Mort.

I'm Fake Irish (Irish American) but love all this stuff intensely. Wish I could say I was full-blood but grew up verymuch around the folk music tradition. Would love to hear this music make a big comeback although I assume the war in Ireland is much of why Celtic Folk Songs peaked in intrest in that time.

I found out around Thanksgiving that on my Mimi’s side of the family (maternal grandma also adopted me) that we’re of partly Welsh descent so I wanted to have a little bit of a taste of the Welsh experience lol

Through a DNA test I found I'm 84% Welch back to the 12th century and of some knighthood... and in true family fashion our knighthood lasted all of two generations before the French bastard revoked our knighthood. To this day I refuse to eat croissants.

The group when they formed, said they were for hire--well yes. That's how they got gigs! So, they chose that name! I own a vinyl ( actual record) bought in Wales. What a treasure this group is! Listening on March 1--Saint David's Day. Pob Hwl!

Honestly it's so annoying, these people who've never even been here, claiming there welsh. Welsh isn't an ethnicity, we'reainly a nationality, any race can be Welsh as long as you live here and this is your home. No DNA test can make you Welsh

@@rogerc.roberts4705 Hard to answer : I would say Gaelic, because the resuslts mention Sctoland, but a most of my family is from Bretagne, in France, so I might be more Brythonic than Gaelic.

@@rogerc.roberts4705 Cornwall used to be West Wales, and most of England was also part of "Cymru" before the Anglo Saxons settled over more and more of the land treating the indigenous as foreigners. Wales actually translates to foreigner/ slave in old English.

Mae'n WIR ddrwg genyf (I'm truly sorry) but No. 8 should be = Yn Harbwr Corc - 'In Cork Harbour' in English. Y Harbwr Corc doesn't make sense of the lyrics.
