I've been wanting to do something like this for a while. It's inspiring to see someone like yourself do it and even make a little money in the process. Great job and thanks for the open-source material!

Absolutely incredible work! As if designing and building this wasn't impressive enough, you've gone on to fully document it with complete parts lists, assembly instructions, and even every little detail of building wiring harnesses. Stellar work. Thank you so much for sharing your skills with the rest of us!
@anninrobotics6 жыл бұрын
Thank you I'm glad to share. Drives me nuts when people post projects but don't give any details or explain things from an expert point of view that doesn't make any sense to the rest of us.

@@anninrobotics precisely. thats exactly the reason the datasheet or even its concept exists in thefirst place. lol imagine if Tesla said to piss off and only showed us what can be possible...Thanks alot for this

This is exactly what I was looking for! I've been wanting to get into engineering, and started by picking up some parts (Arduino starter kit, Nema 23 stepper motor, driver, and PS), but wasn't quite sure what all I needed to make my projects more professional looking, nor how to really get started, in the first place (wasn't sure what terms to search for all the extra bits for the enclosure). The directions for creating the control box will come in very handy! The wiring harness info will be handy for even more than I originally thought, as well. Thank you!

This is amazing; I wish I saw it when you first posted it. I'm working on my 3rd robot arm currently, a custom aluminum build, and may use some major parts of your design. I've shopped a lot for brushless motors that could be used instead of steppers, and finally found some that are around 200 watts and deliver enough torque, and can fit with off-the-shelf (or mostly off-the-shelf) gearboxes.

Great project and videos Chris, I run a small automation business mainly in highly regulated industries, pharma, nuclear that type of thing and the thing that really strikes me about the professionalism here is the documentation and process around it, I've seen many world leading automation powerhouses do less for mega buck projects. Well done.

Chris I really think you should do a video on how you went about designing it. things like: - The payload you were aiming for - How you arrived at the link lengths - How you selected the motors - If you did any FEA simulations for bending and play in your system And also thank you so much for making this open source. I wish this was there when I was doing my dissertation tho :'{ If you want to implement some machine learning stuff on this, please do hit me up :)

Very nice work and really amazing robot arm, I notice the arm cables touched the wooden bloks around min 6, and the force applied to barometer was it as expected. Thanks for sharing.
@anninrobotics6 жыл бұрын
Hello, yes the cables did hit the blocks but I programmed that entire routine in one shot. I suppose I could've gone back and try to monkey with it and re-recorded the video so that the cables didn't hit the blocks but I guess I figured it demonstrated what it needed to. The dial indicator just indicates repeatability of the position I came back to and typically I'm finding it comes back within about .030"
