They really are the best haha. Quite a hassle though, I know my filly is too smart for me to handle at times. When she was 8 months old she learned how to unhook her own leadrope and got loose on me one day!

I had an arabian stallion named Mio El Toro, Toro for short, and a mare named Alcala. Alcala was special because as a little filly she was bottle fed, since her mother rejected her. As she grew older 14 years old, I decided to breed her with my stallion to get an offspring. She deserved that, because she was a great extra mom to other mare's foals. She played with them like they where her own foals. So I knew she loved foals and she deserved to become a mother too. She was an absolutely AMAZING mother. My guess is, she did not want her filly to experience the same abandonment like she did as a foal. I named the filly Torina It was really a joy to see the love she had for her daughter. She was SUCH a fantastic mom. I was very close to my mare and stallion. As Alcala got older she started getting symptoms of hey allergy and asthma. I had to let the hey soak in water before even giving it to her. She also got very easily exhausted when working out, because of it! I wanted to ride carefully, but the poor mare just wanted to please me. She knew I liked to ride fast and also get a proper workout. So in the end I gave up riding her and let her retire. I remember one particular day when i went to the mare barn to give hey to the mares . Torina gave me a powerful bite on my boob. I gave her a a strict scold and went to have a serious discussion with my stallion about his daughters bad manners. A month later when walking next to the pasture where the mares where to reach Toro's pasture which was next to theirs, to refill his water, Torina saw me and started to follow me with her ears down. She was ready to bite me again to show her dominance. But Toro, her father saw this what she was about to do, and he got literally FURIOUS! I have never seen my stallion that pissed off before! He snorted stomped with his front hoof, reared and stomped his front hoof again and snorted furiously as a warning to his daughter. But she did not give a crap about dad's warning and when she was close enough he bend his head over the fence and gave her a powerful bite on her bum. She screamed and rant to her mother for comfort. But her mother did not give her any sympathy for her bad behavior! After Toro gave Torina a powerful bite on her bum he came walking to me to see so i was ok, snorted softly and lovingly and put his head on my shoulder to give me a hug, to tell me "Do not worry mom, you are ok, she wont do it again" I hugged my stallion and gave him a loving kiss on his muzzle. And believe it or not, but Torina did not try to bite me again after that incident! Anyone who thinks arabian horses are crazy can not bee in their right mind. They are the most loyal and smartest horse breed I have ever seen. And I have been around many different horse breeds. I would NOT choose any other breed before an Arabian horse! I love this breed to bits... I too had a telepathic connection to my horses as well...Not so much Torina, but Toro and Alcala...

My mare still had love and trust towards people, even after the abuse by the stable owner at the stable i rented a place for her, before i found out about the abuse and changed stable, until we had our own place. If you ask me, she trusted people perhaps a little to much. How ever i think the reason to that probably is for the fact that she was bottle fed as a little filly, as well as being to kindhearted. She was truly a very special mare indeed. She passed away at the age of 23. And I miss her to bits...

My lifelong AQHA horse husband had a stroke when I brought home my first Arab. I think there was conversation about not keeping it in HIS barn to which I replied no problem it was going in my barn. Now he loves and wants his own Arab. He is in his late 70's and got hung up in the saddle. Little girl stood there with him trying to figure things out. Finally she went to her knees allowing him to free his foot. Love her.

@@seasands9644 Horses, during training, do not yawn out of sleepiness/boredom. It's a "calming signal" (see Anna Blake). It means, just like licking and chewing, "Lay off, I get it." But studies have documented that horses most often yawn in anticipation of meal times. Again, self-calming.

My very spoiled Arab yawns when he's bored or relaxed.
