Good morning.
Today I will show you how to cook a delicious and nutritious breakfast.
We are going to make an Arabic dish and it is called foul. So, without long talks let's get started. Put the pan on the fire and pour some oil. Add hot pepper or chilli. You may use a green pepper or red, fresh or powder, any, it’s up to you. Foul is a spicy dish so we use chili, but the quantity you choose according to your taste.
The most important thing here is to understand the principle of cooking.
Put the tomatoes, add some asafoetida. Vaishnavas do not use onion and garlic and this spice on the one hand gives an onion flavor and on the other hand helps to digest beans. Cover and let the tomatoes cook for 2-3 minutes.
The tomatoes have softened and now we add the boiled beans with a little water in which it was boiled. If you don’t feel like boiling the beans, you can use the canned ones.
Add some Salt, mix and cover with the lid. This dish is very easy to make and each cook sets his own proportions.
Personally me, I take 2 parts of beans for 1 part of tomatoes. You can take more or less, it’s up to you, some people don’t use tomatoes at all and they cook only beans.
In 5 minutes, when it is done, we have to mash part of the beans with a fork in order to get a more homogeneous substance. You can do it easier - as i do, usually I use a blender. Each cook has his own secrets. Next step is adding tahina - a sesame seed paste. Also you can add some ground cumin or ground coriander.
Now, mix thoroughly and sprinkle with herbs. I use coriander. Add 1 tbs of lemon juice and 2-3 tbs of the olive oil. At the end, garnish with a mint leaves.
Our delicious & nutritious foul is ready. As you can see, it’s a very easy recipe. Bon Appetit!
