Who’s here from Mrballens video? Ps you’re gonna get a lot of views…
@donroberts34096 жыл бұрын
We lived in Aratiatia in the mid-1960's. The village has long since been demolished and the power station and spillway gates are all automated but part of my fathers job was to open the spillway gates and on occasions my brother and I went along to press the siren buttons and the gate buttons. Thanks for the memories!!

Thank you for sharing. Its fierce but incredibly beautiful to see. Mr. Ballen has just covered a story about this so I'm guessing your views will grow somewhat in the near future with him having 6.73 million subscribers!

Fantastic to look at, but people have drowned because they ignored the warning signs, sirens and lights.
@chris-dl3ov Жыл бұрын
The warning sign was taken down and removed by someone, which without the warning sign there was no notice of what the siren actually meant and no notice that it was a warning siren. There also weren’t any warning lights.

When I was there some US dude said: 'They should slam the gates open so the water erupts out'. I thought: 'You've been watching too much Hollywood'

Better yet, just remove the dam permanently.
@robertglennienz Жыл бұрын
Why? It generates electricity. If you remove the dam you are going to have to shut down a power station that puts about 84 megawatts into the national grid.
