Great video, thanks for sharing! I am installing the safari on my Tacoma this weekend so this was good preview. Having done one on my 4 runner 8 months ago it looked very similar. I did the same as you with everything on that install to prevent corrosion on bare metal etc. and think on the Tacoma install I may remove the pump and washer tank to give some more room to work. Not that what you did was wrong. I did notice some skinned knuckles 😅, I am sure “there will be blood” on my install as well…goes with the territory. Thanks again, I will subscribe, watch and learn. Actually just went and bought a fender for my truck. I'm taking mine off soon. Couldn't get over the look

I just did my 2012. Thx for the vid it helped. I think ARB is a bit sadistic with putting the hole up past the antenna and of course dropped the washer down the fender-well. But overall easy install. Drimmel drill works so much better for cutting straight.

Why did you plug the drain holes?...If water gets in there it will have no place to go...Why are the six holes so big if the studs on the snorkel are much smaller?

Good questions! Plugging the drain holes was an idea we saw on other installs, the idea for plugging those is that if you end up submerging Up to that point that water would then be actively sucked in through there which could be bad, there isn’t much worry about rain water and such as the snorkels are designed in a way that water exits the bottom of the scoop, it’s crazy you can sit there and spray it with a hose and no water makes it down the intake. The holes being bigger than the studs is needed because it actually takes quite a bit of wiggling and finessing to get the studs in. Also remember your making the holes off of a template which was pretty dang good but it will never be exact so I think that’s another reason they want the holes that big is to compensate for the error in that.

Haha, the automatic car wash life has long been dead for Loki! But in all actuality though the snorkel does a fantastic job at not ingesting water, they have an interesting design that drains the water out the top hooded section. I know it’s hard to believe, I had to test it out with the hose before I was convinced water doesn’t get sucked in.
