J'ai vu le loup ("I saw the wolf") is a French folk song, and also a nursery rhyme or children's song. The song is thought to have medieval origins.

Hey, i'm french and thanks for this song. To explain this song, it's a critique of medieval politics. Here, the King (the wolf), the lords (the fox) and the Church (the hare) dance, celebrate, enjoy their wealth, while the peasants pay numerous taxes and live in extreme poverty.
