Arc of Attrition is UK's hardest winter miler on the coast of Cornwall. From Coverack to Porthowan in the middle of the British winter, this race tests you in every way. We experienced every type of terrain underfoot, yet the views, the race itself and the people I fell in love with. The Arc Angels will do everything to help you get to the finish. With only four Check Points (CPs) on course, you can choose to have a crew to help you in between. I did this race without a crew relying on the Arc Angels and my drop bag at Lands End. This is an emotional journey showing what I went through, but always looking to the views and the reason why I wanted that buckle so badly.
I could not have done it without the incredible Mudcrew community who helped me understand the route as I could not get out to recce it. Also, my incredible friends and family who continue to support my crazy adventures.
I loved meeting so many new friends and look forward to more ultra adventures in the future. Thank you Mudcrew - what a community!

The problem is with those big 100 miles is that the start feels so amazing like nothing can stop you and you have loads of people around you. As when you train you are all by yourself majority of the time. So no wonder you have this massive meltdown even though you are fully trained for it. Been through the same experience. Get boaring pretty quick when you are tired and low on energy and no one around you. Great effort on pulling through. Say not much fun when you have to walk!

Great insight. Does make a huge difference having people around! Stubbornness prevails

Huge well done to you! Pure grit and the desire to do it! Amazing story and journey. You're not alone in your multiple waves of emotion and self doubt! We all go through it and you've proven you've got what it takes! So pleased for you! I mentioned before the race, "One day you'll thank yourself for not giving up"! Well done Dawn

Well done Dawn. The pain cave was vast on this one wasn’t it ha ha Gina giraffe made it round in one piece, did your wings make it? Couldn’t see them at the end.

Well done but is it really the uks hardest? What about the winter spine race? 268 miles in January and in the North pennines and Scottish Borders. Cornwall in winter is usually pretty mild in comparison. I guess the difference is the 36 hour cut off.

It's the hardest 100 miler in winter...we were super lucky with the weather with no wind or rain and moderate temperatures...often it is the opposite! Absolutely agree aglbout the spine...I'd say it is right up there but way above a 100 miler...huge respect
