Wednesday evening, 4 of us visited Arcade Creek at Keoncrest Circle for the first time since last November. Last year we removed 130,000 pounds of trash and debris from this small stretch of creek, with the amazing assistance of Sacramento County Department of Water Resources. A huge number of encampments lined the creek in this area for years which left many layers of junk to remove.
With the recent winter storms flushing new trash downstream and unearthing old debris, it’s time to remove what we find, which we will do again and again, until there is only a beautiful creek bed left.
We didn’t get very far, but still removed about 1,200 pounds of muddy, wet, sandy debris. We will be back soon.
